After much research on different hotels, we picked the Foxridge hotel because of the reviews that we read and what we saw online. What a disappointment when we got to our room!
The lobby was nice and the grounds were beautiful, however, once we got to the room, it was old and not what we expected for what we paid. The worst part was that it was dirty.

There were hairs on the soap dish and the worse part Black hairs all in the beds. When I pointed out to the front desk that we had just checked in and that I had blonde hair, they came down and changed the linens. I then pointed out that there were cherrios on the floor . I asked them to leave a vaccuum and I actually vaccuumed the rug myself. That is how we started our vacation after a long drive.

They never offered a discount or any compensation. We didn't want to stay there another night, but had already paid in full for both nights. We will never stay there again.
The buffet in the morning was not much better. I had to ask for ceral bowls and when I did nicely, I was given the rolling eyes. When I handed them a dirty bowl, I was given a dirty look. It was shocking!
We decided that we were going to come back to N. Conway to do more activities this year that we were unable to fit in this weekend, but definitely will not be staying at this establishment. They have lost our business. We will not be recommending this place to our friends when they ask us where we stayed.

We are veteran visitors to the Mount Washington Valley - been going for nearly a decade, ever since our honeymoon visit in 1999. We usually use our timeshare at Attitash, but chose to try a family hotel, and wow, did we pick a nice one.

Fox Ridge is owned by the the Davenport family who operates the Red Jacket chain of resorts in North Conway and Cape Cod. The family operation is apparent in the staff at Fox Ridge. This seasonal hotel is really a family resort at the cost of a "mo-tel". We were warmly welcomed at check-in and our request for a valley view king sized room was filled. During the week, the hotel is not very busy which leaves the staff time to cater to your needs.

Rooms were basic but very acceptable for family use. Our King room had a bed, two chairs and table, TV with real cable (not chain motel satellite) VCR, fridge and a split bathroom (sink in room). The room was clean, well lit, and had a very nice patio with 2 chairs facing the HUGE grassy field in front of Fox Ridge where we actually saw a red fox.

The indoor pool was warm and clean with ample towels. The pool room is well ventilated and actually DRY! The outdoor pool looked great but was too cold in June for us. A game room with laundry and ice is located downstairs, also with a nice view of the valley. Mini golf is free, and its simply several holes in the deck... nothing fancy, but FREE. A very nice outdoor playground compliments the stellar landscaping on the 30 acres they own.

We did not hear any noise from other rooms (hope we didnt cause too much). The location is far enough from the main road, White Mountain Highway, Route 16, that there is no traffic noise, but the location is still right in the center of the fun.

Breakfast is served daily with cooked to order M-F, buffet on the weekends. Cost is about $8 with gratuity if you sign up ahead of time. This is a standard hotel hot breakfast buffet... good, but not memorable. (Search for Glen Junction Restaurant for a memorable meal)

I cannot compliment this hotel enough. We loved our visit, and cannot wait to go again. My 3-year old calls it our "New House in New Hampshire"... she is right, it was like another home.

My husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to stay overnight in North Conway. Years ago, we had stayed at the WHite Mountain Inn and loved it; once, when it was booked the owners recommended the Fox Ridge. Since the prices at the WHite Mountain have gone up to include golf, and we do not play, we decided to try the Fox Ridge. Most of the other reviewers have covered the good points, so I won't describe the view, grounds, spacious feelings. I will add that our rooms was spotless and lovely, with a wonderful view and balcony.
However, our first night was spoiled by children next door screaming and banging starting at 5 AM. Since the hotel has lovely grounds and common rooms where the noise would not bother guests, I was shocked that the parents did not take the children where they would not disturb others. When we told the management, they were apologetic and put us into a different room, which was next to a polite family whose children did not disturb us. All-in-all our stay was good, but the number of families at the resort might make it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

If you are a family headed to the White Mts. to get out and do things, I can't imagine there's a better 'home base' hotel in the area in its price range ($165/night over Labor Day weekend). This hotel's strengths are its vast and well-maintained grounds, its views to the east and west, and its location far back from the main drag (from our room we could see only trees and mountains, no cars or other businesses) but in the middle of everything.

Both pools were great (if a little chilly, but hey, it was NH in Sept.) and well-stocked with towels, and our guest room had a private deck, fridge and, unexpectedly, a VCR.

The weaknesses at Fox Ridge are that the lighting in the wood-paneled hallways can be best described as 'dim flourescent gloom' and our room did have a very faint ashy odor, part authentic musty New England mountain cabin, part 'used to be a smoking room years ago.'

While in N. Conway, we drove through the nearby Red Jacket/Mt. View property, which had less spacious grounds, a more hectic parking lot, and was much closer to the street than Fox Ridge.
