We stayed at this hotel last week. As we used Trip Advisor to help us find it, I felt I should write a review. Absolutely lovely! We stayed in the Carriage House in one of the cheaper rooms. It was very nice. Lovely lavender-scented sheets! Breakfast was also great. We traveled to Hanover, NH for events at Dartmouth. It is about a 20 min. drive - although it feels like you are much further away. The grounds are also lovely. We did not try the restaurant for dinner. We will highly recommend to friends.

Chef Victoria du Roure is among the top chefs in the world in our book (and we've traveled extensively in France and elsewhere), and host Stephane du Roure runs the front of the house with a deft and loving hand.

The whole experience is like having dinner in some friends' French country house -- if those friends were a five-star chef and a seasoned restaurateur.

Now, we just have to come up with a good excuse to spend the weekend at the inn (it's only 45 miles from our home)...

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Home Hill mid-August, '04. We went with some trepidation, having read only a magazine review and unfortunately used to places looking better in a brochure than real life.
Boy! Were we surprised. A beautiful property, incredible appointments, delightful staff and an unbelievable restaurant for breakfast and dinner (except Mondays when dinner is not served). A perfect location for day jaunts to Manchester, Hanover, Grafton, Woodstock,museums, canoeing on the Connecticut.
The terraces were peaceful respites for reading and gazing at the horses. The pool was quiet and refreshing. The living room was a comfortable refuge from the summer showers. Other than the bathrooms being a bit snug, there was nothing that diminished the advertised charm and grace of this elegant, but comfortable, inn.
