My Husband and I just got married here in the beginning of July and it was absolutely beautiful. It all went so well for us.
The room we had was so amazing we decided to stay another night. It was all so perfect for us, UNTILL WE WERE ROBBED. One of the employees broke into our room and stole $600 of our wedding gift money. We were so defastated that we never left our room the extra day we decided to stay.
The day we did have to leave we did get the resort to credit our card. We are very thankful for that but being robbed really put a damper on the whole event.

Our first visit here was during April school vacation. My two children and I loved it. The resort is a great escape on a hilltop that offers seclusion and peace from hub-bub, yet is not too far from activities and population that provide opportunities for more action and shopping. The views overlooking the lake/mountains and large grounds for exploration are lovely.

The two indoor pools offer convenient choices for all guests. One of them that is located in an atrium includes waterslides , a toddler pool w/fountain, plants, nooks and crannies. It offers a very unique experience for indoor pools in this area. This particular pool, however, is very popular for it's special attributes and draws many guests. I found that rules (such as not throwing balls or safely traveling on the slides) were not enforced well and caused disruption for some guests when unsupervised children were tossing toys around and hitting others or were not particularly safe on the slides The other indoor pool, while more basic, drew fewer people and offered a more relaxing scene as an alternative.
.
The hospitality was excellent. Staff very friendly and warm. Our 2 bed unit was very spacious. Organized resort activities for this week were abundant and provided many opportunities for us to engage in fun without leaving the resort.

The restaurants on-site offer a very good variety of meals at a reasonable price for the convenience of a good meal. However, I found service to be a little unstable and quality of food to be a little "off." They were working on many menu changes at that time so that may have contributed to some of the confusion. If they get their minor problems resolved, they offer great opportunities for guests to have very good food at good prices. Views from the restaurants are splendid.

Despite very small deficiencies that can be found anywhere, this is one of my favorite resorts I've visited in New England. I want to return. It is simply...very, very special.

We stayed at the resort for two nights and found the place to be a little rundown. On Saturday morning we went to the Hilltop restaurant for a breakfast buffet. We found the food to be only okay and the service to be slow. The staff was very nice, but the place in understaffed. During the day we went to the pool (which is hard to find) and there was no one on duty to give out towels. The restaurant offered take-out, but you had to walk what seemd a half a mile to order the food. Aren't resorts supposed to have waiters at the pool? What about a poolside bar? Everytime I went inside the door would lock behind me and I had to prop the doors open with a chair to be able to go in and out.

Don't get me wrong- the location for thie resort is beautiful! The idea of a nice resport in this place is great...but the main building needs to be updated and there needs to be easier access to the pool. The windows in the restaurant need to be cleaned and they need more people on duty. It took me and my fiancee a long time to find breakfast on Saturday morning. The attendant in the indoor pool area was really nice, but was not sure if breakfast was served or not. Also, the inside had poor A/C units so we sweat our butts off the whole time!

For the price we paid, we could have stayed at an ocean front hotel in Maine. I did not get the homey comfy feeling that I could get elsewhere. Next time I will have a bbq in my backyard and feel more at home.

The check in was quick and the girls were very friendly. We went for a one night stay just to getaway and swim for the day.

The rooms are disgusting. The smell when you first walk in are really gross. The units are so dated. I was really looking forward to just sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view but the balcony needed alot of help. I did not even feel safe on them.

The kids did enjoy the pool and we did have fun swimming but the early check out 10am made it impossible to even take a quick dip in the morning. For the price you are paying I would skip this one. I would not consider this a resort and I will not be returning.

I stayed at this resort for a women's retreat through my church group. I agree with the reviewer that the roads leading up to the resort are sketchy, and I reside in NH and have driven on some frost heave impacted roads before, and these were pretty bad. Obviously, the owners of this resort are pretty cash strapped. I attended seminars in the "Carriage House" which was mediocre at best, but they tried to create ambiance with lit candles and the fireplace roaring (yes, this is late May in New England). It was rustic, somewhat rundown, but not entirely unpleasant. The young women at the front desk/reception were very pleasant and helpful, just watch that sudden drop when you enter the reception area, I saw at least 4 people trip when entering. I stayed in a 2 bd condo in the 'West' wing, and yes, you have to carry your luggage up and down steep stairs (ladies, don't wear heels). The living space was so-so, the floors are bowed, I don't know how old the building is, the weather conditions wear buildings badly, building construction is cheap, loose tiles in the bathroom floor, etc. but overall not entirely bad. The indoor pool area is very run down, getting in and out of the "Roman bath" is difficult, one step to get in and that step is loose. Not bad for kids. Roof leaked, and it was raining, so sat in a chair by the pool and got dripped on. You had to turn on the sauna yourself before entering, and found it amusing that the management posted a note on the controls to not turn the sauna above "5" which provided minimal heat after waiting for about 10 minutes for the unit to heat up. Several ice cream "pop up" wrappers littered the interior of the sauna, and that about said it all. Yes, it's a bit dirty and run down, but kids won't notice. I glanced at the restaurant menu and just about died, entrees ran between $20-30 (and this is a family resort??). Lower your expectations and you'll be fine. The place need serious investment , and a marketing strategy, and it could be nice.
