Right on the beach at Cape May, this is a convenient and quality casual restaurant. McGlade's on the Beach has some relationship to McGlade's Backstreet Cafe in Cape May but they are different restuarants.
McGlade's on the Beach is open for B/L/D. No liquor license but they welcome BYOB. We arrived at lunchtime and left our things right on the beach. How convenient! They have an extensive menu. Each of our lunches were served with really fresh seedless watermelon slices, cantalope and wedges of orange. The Crabcake Sandwich ($10.25) was full of crabmeat not a mushy cake. The Crabmeat Salad on Croissant was heaping and tasted awesome. I had a hand pressed burger which certainly was homemade and topped with beaucoup real bleu cheese on a soft bun ($8.95) . The red skin potato salad served with the crab sandwiches was excellent but hard to finish ,given the large portions. Fresh brew iced tea is available along with lemondade, soda, etc. I eyed around the dining area and saw some beautiful looking salads.
Really convenient if you're hanging on the beach and no reason to step further away with the quality and selection that they offer. We preferred to sit outside under cover, but inside dining is also available. Great experience!
