Long-standing family-run establishment just a few blocks off of Route 17. Enjoy their sauce (gravy) and pizza, though sometimes they can be stretched a little too thin for their cooking style. What I absolutely love and crave from time to time are their tuna and roast beef sandwiches served on lighter Italian loaves sprinkled with sesame seeds. Ask at the counter if the in-house roasted beef is rare. If it is, order it! Lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, that's the route I go. If the beef is not very pink, I will opt for the excellent homemade tuna and ask for both red and balsamic vinegars on the side to splash on right before every bite. My good friend has actually driven about 15 miles each way when the tuna crave hits, and for metro NYC, that is considered going out of your way. He and my children also enjoy the cannolis filled to order.
