On a whim my husband and I decided to go out last night for a local bite. What we stumbled upon was the sleek and sexy Sublime. An Asian and American Fusion restaurant headed by executive chef Scott Howlett.
The atmosphere is bathed in soft blue light, the cocktail list is enticing and the menu is filled with an appealing wide array of choices. We chose to sit at the bar to drink and dine and the lovely female bartender was fun, upbeat and supremely good at making drinks. My Black Cherry Caipirinha was an especially refreshing treat as well as the Fig Mojito. The Fried Green Tomatoes ($10) tasted as delicious and fresh as they looked when they arrived. The star of the evening was by far the Hamachi Crudo ($16). The combination of the sashimi, jalapeño and watermelon was dazzling. My husband opted for the Grilled Tuna Steak ($26) served over soba noodles and we were equally blown away with the elegant presentation and overall flavor combination of tuna, soba noodles, cilantro pesto and pineapple/cucumber salsa. Feeling compelled to order just one more delectable treat I ordered the Golden Watermelon Gazpacho ($9). The Jumbo crab meat and chili oil paired beautifully with the chilled soup.
The crowd was lively and fun and the great music of Jimi Hendrix and Cream among others added the perfect final touch to an evening of good company and great food. We look forward to making this gem a mainstay in our local favorite hot spots!
