I booked a room at Crossland in advance for one night, so that I could attend a show nearby. When we arrived, it took 20 MINUTES to gain access to the parking lot!!! This place is right off several different highway exits, yet you can only enter the parking lot from one particualr exit. That, combined with NJ's lack of turn lights made for a VERY frustrating arrival. Once we finally got in the parking lot, it was immediately clear that the building was rather run-down, and there were several odd-looking people hanging around outside (some in nightclothes and curlers). I went to check-in only to be told that my room had been given away and that they had moved my reservation to another of their chain hotels 20 minutes away! When I asked why they didn't call me on my cell phone (they had the number) and inform me of the change prior to my arrival, I recieved a shrug and some unintelligable mumbling.

As a result of their giving my room (which I booked in advance) away, and not informing me of the venue change I had to run to the new location, figure out new directions to the show, drive an extra 10 miles, and thus missed the first 40 minutes of a show that I paid money and drove over 200 miles to see.

Don't stay there if you want something nice, safe, and reliable.

Stayed here for one night. Used the Extended Stay Suite savers rate, which was quite good. The room is equpped with a small refridgerator, micorvave and stove. The size of the room was quite small with just a shower. Everything was clean except the carpet, which could have used a good cleaning. One thing I did not appreciate was a phone call an hour before check out asking me if I am staying over. I told them no. A little after 11, which was check out, they knocked on my door to tell me again check out is 11. When I stay at a hotel on Saturday, they usually are not too strict on checking out a little later. Would I stay here again? Probably, if the price I got could not be met anywhere else.

This place advertises its low rate, but the rate has just gone up, even for the extended stay folks who are already here. I stayed here twice in the past and liked the staff and the simple facility. But this time I found that the manager and staff have changed, and the new staff and manager could care less about any issues I have. There is a noisy family with small children staying right above my room. The noise through the floor is just unbearable. I repeatedly brought this issue to this new manager called Mike, but I could get no response whatsoever. I then contacted the corporate office, but also got no response. I pay the money every week on time, but I can not get a decent place to sleep and to work. Because I am a Chinese American, I sometimes wonder whether I have been singled out. I will contact the Better Busines Bureau and the NJ attorney general's office to find out if there's a discrimination issue. If so, I'll bring this hotel to court. I have no choice but to move out of here soon since the noisy family above me is staying long term. My advice is not to stay here, unless you'd like to deal with rude manager and staff.
