“Not great, but a place to stay on the road”

We stayed one night. The hotel is well situated for travelers, just a little off Route 95. The room was clean except for the toilet, which was a little off-putting. The TV pickednup some channels clearly but not all of them. The people at the front desk were minimally courteous.

Still, the bed was firm and not bad and the rest of the room was all right. We liked the fact that the hotel had a pool with a nice pool area in the middle of the property. There are tons of restaurants nearby, including Fuddrusker's next door.

While some of the clientele seemed a little, shall we say, sketchy, we got a good night's sleep and the place was not overly loud.

It's a place to stop on the road for the night, nothing more and nothing less. The pool is a bonus. We paid $53 for the room, which seems about right.

This was truly one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I booked the room through Hotwire for 3 people. However, when I checked in, the hotel charged me an additional $20 for my 3rd person in the room. The room was disappointing and gross. The bathroom door was warped and did not close properly, the toilet barely flushed, there were hairs and stains on the bed sheets, the security chain on the door was broken (we had to keep a door propped against the door while we slept), the pool water was dark green and the wireless internet did not work in the room. I complained to the front desk about some of the problems and they promised to send someone to the room to fix things, but never did. Then I complained to Hotwire. Hotwire was great and contacted the hotel directly to try to assist me with the problems. Unfortunately the front desk staff promised Hotwire that they would fix most of the problems with our room, but then they never followed through with the promise. So I had to go to the front desk again to request clean sheets. The guy at the front desk (there seems to be just one man and one woman working at this hotel) claimed that it was too late for him to get into housekeeping to get clean sheets and that we aren't entitled to clean sheets until the next day because we hadn't actually spent a night in the room yet. After much arguing we left the lobby in disgust, but miraculously about 15 minutes later someone did arrive at our door with a clean set of sheets. When we contacted the nationwide 800 number for technical support for the wireless internet that was supposed to be available in the rooms, the national tech guy on the phone said he'd been having problems with this hotel and the front desk guy had been completely uncooperative in helping to get the problem resolved. He suggested we report the night desk attendant to the morning desk staff, but we knew they were all the same 2 people so reporting anyone to anyone else at the hotel would do no good. Fortunately I was able to get my $20 extra person fee back by complaining to the front desk about it again and grabbing the credit card slip out of the woman's hands and writing "VOID" across my signature. What ever you do, do not stay at this hotel!!!!!

I had booked 3 days to stay at this hotel, to be near my child at Rutgers.
The outside looked pretty nice and after negotiating directly with the front desk, the price was reasonable.
The room was pretty decent, good size. My room had 2 doors which made me a little uncomfortable security-wise. The second door opened out onto the courtyard with the pool and the other door opened out onto the parking area.
The next morning, my car was broken into in a span of 5 minutes. We had entered the room to grab a few items and then were planning to leave. They ransacked my car and took valuable items.
I was told by the police, that I needed to leave this hotel, that this type of thing happened all the time at this hotel. Drug addicts, transients and prostitutes stay here. They advised me to leave that morning and I did.
We were targeted and watched as we went into the room and then they went to work.
I spoke to another customer that morning as I was checking out and she had suffered through a night of loud noise and was glad that she was leaving.
I couldn't get any answers out of the manager and the police seemed surprised that I wasn't warned by the management, since I had spoken to them directly before I arrived.
The location of the hotel is a concern also and can only be entered from one direction as it is right after an exit off a major highway and since New Jersey doesn't allow left hand turns, you can only enter the parking lot safely by coming off the exit and turning in. This make it extremely difficult to come and go. To leave the hotel, you had to drive through a restaurant parking lot, and take numerous turns to get back on Hwy 18. There was no back entry to the hotel which made it hard to come from another direction.
