“Great Hotel for Travelers”

WE had 2 rooms for 4 nights. Our stay was fantastic. The staff was friendly, professional and approachable. The menu in Bistro 128 was recently upgraded. The menu has Osso Buco, Sea Bass and my personal favorite Short Ribs of Beef. It was like butter. If you are in the mood for some cocktails and a burger the bar is the place to be. The staff in the restauraunt and the bar were great and very attentive. The hotel's decor has been updated and looks wonderful. For an Airport hotel the rooms are large and the beds very comfortable. We were checked in by the Assistant front desk manager Joe who was very friendly and personable. When we had a question and the front desk staff was tied up with other guests we were helped out by Robert the front desk manager. Now that is great service. There was always a smile from the front desk staff when we came or left for the day. There is a kiosk in the lobby to print boarding passes. We did not get a chance to use the pool but it looked great for doing laps. We rented a car but there is a shuttle service to and from the airport. I would reccomend this hotel for all travelers. Both overnight and longer stays. JMW Dunedin FL.

We stayed here as part of a cruise package with Royal Caribbean. We stayed overnight before being transferred to Explorer of the Seas. The room was clean and comfortable and the restaurant OK although we were surprised that it was not open 24hrs in an hotel used for cruise and airport stopovers. The transfer to the ship was fairly well organised although a bit chaotic which was not surprising considering the numbers involved.
We were on floor 7 in a room with an outdoor view over the railyards. Our friends were in a room overlooking the swimming pool in the foyer and found it difficult to sleep due to the lights shining through the curtains - suggest you avoid an inside room if you are a light sleeper.
Whilst nothing to do with the hotel, we were disappointed with the limited port information and emphasis on shopping on this cruise and would not use Royal Caribbean again.

My stay at the Sheraton Newark Airport was on January 4, 2008, for one night between flights. Upon arrival at the Front Desk, I was greeted and checked in promptly. My room, 1119, was well equipped with coffee, tea, nice bathroom amenities, adequate towels, concave shower curtain, and comfortable chair. The bed, although appearing to be fluffy and comfortable was just average with pillows a bit too big and uncomfortable. There was no problem with sheets fitting the bed, the bottom sheet completely covered the mattress. Internet was available in rooms and lobby for an extra charge, no free internet in the lobby. There is a well-equipped gym with 24-hour access in the lobby and indoor pool with more limited hours. Transportation to the Newark Airport is available every 15 minutes at all hours. My wake-up call was set, revised and delivered promptly and the bed-side clock/radio had good reception and worked well. Check-out was prompt and friendly. There was a good selection of complimentary newspapers available in the lobby.

“Traveling to New Jersey”

Sheraton Newark Airport Hotel

Every march for the past 6 years or so i travel to NJ for a childrens swim meet in the state. The Boys and Girls Clubs Regional Swim meet. All three of my children have been swimmers and we stay at this hotel for the meet every year. (we are from boston) I have to say its one of the nicer and cleaner hotels i have stayed in. Nice rooms, nice pool, good are to stay in if ur traveling to see New York City. The restaurant is also nice, and we usually get brunch at a hotel down the road on sundays. (it has a great brunch) There is a small arcade for children. The hotel is beautiful and has a nice atmoshpere too it. I really enjoyed staying here each year, and will most likely stay here again in two months for the next meet.

“Pleasantly Surprised”

We stayed at this property for 3 nights while visiting New York City. I had booked this prior to reading the Trip Advisor reviews and upon reading them was uncertain as to what we might have gotten ourselves into. The hotel is certainly under renovation, however aside from walking around construction workers in the lobby sometimes it was nothing that affected us.

The room itself was recently remodeleed and even had a fresh smell. The decor was modern and updated. We were in the city for most of the day and it was a very quiet and enjoyable retreat upon our return. We ordered room service to start our day and end each evening which was prompt and the food was good without being outrageously priced. We enjoyed the cheaper costs of a non-NYC vacation while visiting all the famous shows and spots that make NYC great. (tip: if you can swing it, the helicopter ride over NYC was a great experience not to be missed--as was walking the Brooklyn Bridge on the pedestrian bridge path--great views!)

The trains run regularly to NYC from NJ Penn station--$20 cab ride from hotel to NJ Penn station. For $40 round trip per day the accomodations savings were well worth it to us. Hotel was excellent at having taxis ready tor us as needed. One day we were running late for a live performance and took a cab ride to NYC $75--only did this one day--found it a little steep. Trains were an economical and efficeint way to travel-direct connection to NYC subways and we had no problems in getting around NYC or between Newark and NYC on the transit systems. While we could have avoided the cab ride by taking shuttle to airport--and then airtrain to NJ Penn station to catch the train to NYC-- this made an extra stop and results in only a $5 saving (airtrain was $15 for 2 people, cab ride $20). Not worth the extra step in our eyes.

Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Should we be visiting the NYC area in future we would certainly consider staying here again.
