My husband and I just stayed there over the New Years weekend with our two dogs and had a wonderful stay. Our room was beautifully decorated and had fun little extras like many magazines to choose from, candles, and little jars of candy and nuts. We had a jacuzzi and a fireplace and used both each day we were there. The bathroom is a bit tiny so would be a challenge for someone requiring extra room and the sink was situated strangely so it was hard not to get the floor wet, but besides those minor things everything was great! I've stayed in B&Bs before where you feel like you have to tip toe around and be extra quiet but this place - although beautiful and relazing - was not ultra fussy like it can be sometimes. The innkeeper, Nancy, was very friendly and welcoming as was the lady who brought our breakfast (which was great on both mornings- specially created for us b/c we're vegetarians). The location was just perfect- being winter we didn't have to worry about parking, and since we're runners we could lace up our sneaks and head out to run the boardwalk w/o having to drive there.
Overall, a wonderful place- especially if you want to bring your pup!

I am glad everyone else had a good time because not only would I never stay here again, I was glad to leave. I paid a discounted rate to stay in the off season, and clearly no effort was made!

When I got there, the first thing I saw was kid junk all over the porch- stuff thrown around, a dirty q tip on the floor, shoes, toys, dirty floors and carpets that needed vaccuuming. The proprietor told me she "wanted to make sure it [the room] was clean first" and then told me her kids play in that room and watch TV in there. The rugs were dirty, they were obviously eating in there, the carpet was stained, and there was dog hair on the bedspread. Because I paid half price I was uncomfortable complaining, so I cleaned up as best I could.

I pulled back the bedspread to make sure the sheets were clean, and they were, but there was a container of tic tacs in my bed. Obviously left there by her kids. There was also a nasty used loofah left in the bathroom. Yuck. This "used room" made me very uncomfortable.

I stayed for 2 days. Not only was the q tip was never picked up, but more daily dirt accumulated on top of it. There were goldfish crackers on the steps which got stepped on and tracked all over. She left it that way. She never cleaned or swept the floors, emptied my trash, nothing. Dirty breakfast dishes were left to sit in the dining area, and when her kitchen door was open, I thanked the Gods I never put one of her forks in my mouth. That house is dirty. I am sorry but it's the truth.

They also have the very quaint habit of putting a "gate" across the entry way- a piece of lattice fencing pushed between the stair bannisters. Stepping UP over it in jeans was no problem; stepping over it DOWN onto the steps in heels dressed for dinner, in the dark with no porch light on, was a different story. It was dangerous and made me wonder if I was supposed to be using that entrance at all. But there was no other, so I had to do it. I don't know what she was thinking, to make a guest jump through hoops like that. I am glad I was physically able to do it. If my Mother had been with me, she never could have.

I haven't even begun to tell you about her screaming kids beating each other up and running up and down the steps; the dogs barking; or her yelling at her kids and the dog (They live in the house). For this reason I did not sleep well when I was there and I left exhausted after my stay.

There is supposed to be wireless internet in all the rooms, but her connection was encrypted. There was no instruction or key given, and no one to ask so I never could get online. Also a lot of things in the room didn't work, there was no remote (kids again), and the clock radio/cd player didn't work. I used my cellphone alarm and prayed I would hear it.

Finally, check out time is 10am. She was nowhere to be found at 10am. I left the money and the key, I hope she found it because I was not sticking around.

This place was convenient and cheap for me so I put up with it knowing it was a temporary stay. But I have to tell you, for their regular rates there is NO WAY I would have stayed nor could I recommend it to anyone. I was very disappointed. Very poorly run.

We can't wait to go back! My children and I took a short trip to Ocean City, NJ and I am so glad that I found this bed and breakfast. Nancy was acommodating and sweet as well as Leanna. Our room and bathroom were very clean and very nicely decorated. We had plenty of towels and little extras that you just don't find--extra toiletries, candles, magazines. We all felt very comfortable and safe here. The parking was fine. We enjoyed eating their delicious breakfasts on the porch one morning and in the dining area the other morning. The breakfasts were wonderful and freshly prepared and each portion could have fed two.
We're Marriott Vacaton Club owners and Hilton Grand Vacation Club owners, so we're used to very nice accomodations and we really can't wait to go back to this bed and breakfast-it was a wonderful experience!

We had a wonderful time at the OC Mansion. We stayed in Miss McKenna's room which was beautiful and very comfortable. Nancy the innkeeper is delightful and warm and really made us feel very welcome.
