The Northwood Inn is the best place to stay in Ocean City, NJ, and a great base from which to visit any destination on the south NJ shore! We've been visiting for years and just spent a long weekend in May there. The owners, John and Marj Loeper, are friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfasts (continental and full) are great, with yummy homemade baked goods and the tastiest fruit. We've stayed in standard rooms as well as both of their two suites. All the rooms are very pretty and comfortable. This time we enjoyed the Tower Suite, which features a great jacuzzi tub. We also enjoy the jacuzzi spa on the inn rooftop. You'll love the big wrap-around porch, too. Another great thing about the Northwood is its location, on a more quiet corner, not next to the rides, attractions and city parking lots, but still just a short walk (c. 4 blocks) to the Boardwalk. We highly recommend the Northwood Inn whether you're coming alone, with your honey, or with some friends. You'll have a great time!

My wife and I first visited the Northwood ten years ago and have never even thought of staying anywhere else in OC since. The only time we did was when we took a completely spur of the moment drive to OC and the Northwood was fully booked. John/Marj graciously found us a spot at a neighboring B&B---very, very nice and a great second choice, but no Northwood. The Northwood is a spotlessly clean, well-kept, beautiful building with a nice range of room sizes/prices. I believe we've stayed in nearly every room over the years and each has its unique charm. As hosts, you could do no better---John/Marj are genuinely friendly, and they and the staff are always available but never intrusive. Everything is so relaxed and non-stuffy, yet they are careful about maintaining the peacefulness of the environment, so it's routinely a nice, laid back adult crowd---when kids are present, they're always well-behaved and with parents. A charming place run by wonderful people with an always friendly group of guests. My highest recommendation.

Great B&B. Owners are nice and show pride in their property. Rooms are a little small, but clean and cozy. Quiet environment and tons of privacy. This is worth the trip. Short walk to the beach.

“Escape & in Good Company”

I have been to several Bed and Breakfast places in Ocean City and one of the biggest things that makes me return to the Northwood is the Friendly "At ease" company of the owners. John and Marj not only keep a very clean Bed and Breakfast, but they are also very knowledgeable as to what is going on in and around Ocean City. Morning breakfast is a treat, the hot tub on the roof deck is a great fun touch. The Northwood is there to serve and help but also knows how to give a couple space to enjoy there "get away" or retreat from the everyday. The Northwood is full of amenities and located close to the Ocean City boardwalk and beach. There was always plenty of parking. If you never tried a Bed and Breakfast before i would start here. The restored and upgraded home atmosphere is also a reason i enjoy my visits here. This year will be the 5th year i am revisiting the Northwood.

We have been staying at the inn for about 4 or 5 years. We look forward to this trip every year. the accomodations are great,the food is excellent. Marj and John are great people, Best place in Ocean City. Linda & Bob Murray
