I stayed here because it was close to a client I was visiting. Desk service was friendly. Rooms were OK.

Halls and other public areas were a bit run down. Lot's of noise coming from the other rooms.

Breakfast was included but buffet area was small and cramped. Table service was slow and indifferent.

I stayed at this hotel because it was located near my client. I arrived after working all day and was not particularly greeted by the front desk staff, nor was I asked about a wake-up call. When I arrived on my floor and walked to the room, I found that the very thin carpet had been laid directly onto the concrete floor! One of the hardest hallways ever. Now that is not a big deal, but it did give me an idea of what was to come. The room was large, but poorly decorated. The bed was one of the least comfortable that I've ever slept in and the pillows were in poor condition. There was no closet, just a space near the door to hang things. In the morning I looked without success for a spot to fill my cup to take with me. The only option was to go to the restaurant for breakfast. For the price, if a Hampton Inn had been available, I would have chosen it. If you have options, choose another hotel.

I stay here once or twice a year when I need to visit family and friends back in NJ (I grew up in Westfield, one town over). This place used to be fine, but has gone downhill in recent hears. I think they're about due for a renovation. There always seems to be some raucous group staying there, with a few sketchy characters wandering the hallways after dark. It's also a bit overpriced for what it is but, unfortunately, there's not much else to choose from anywhere nearby. Given how populous that area is, its proximity to New York City and Newark Airport, and the fact that Route 22 is a major thoroughfare, it's surprising that there aren't more major hotel chains there. If there were more competition, this Holiday Inn might actually clean up its act a bit.

We recently stayed here after a wedding. We have stayed at many Holiday Inns before and this one was by far the dirtiest I have ever seen. The shower was terribly dirty and rusty. There was a non-slip mat in the shower and when you turned the water on you could see the dirt pouring out from under it. I felt dirtier after I took a shower than I did before I got in. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillowcases had a mildwey smell.

This place's only saving grace is the Elephant and Castle Bar and Pub located in it. The bartenders are evry nice and they serve a wonderful buffet breakfast.
