First off, my reservations were for July, and due to unforseen circumstances. I needed to cancel them. I phoned the Madrid on May 30th. Which was well within the cancellation period. I knew I would loose a percent. I requested a refund, and never received it. I phoned the motel on 6 different times, and spoke to a different person. Each said that they would leave a note for the owner. She was unavailable at that time. They last guy I spoke with suggusted I could apply it until the end of the season. I documented every phone call, date, time, and person that I spoke with. Finially, after getting the run around, it was in my schedule to be able to go in August. When I called to re-make reservations for Aug. they man told me it's too late. That I didn't do it in the correct amount of time and that my deposit is gone. I got extremely upset, and told him that "They" were the ones that did not return "my" deposit. I told him that I had it documented the dates, person and times that I phoned. They wanted me to prove that I hadn't recieved my refund. REALLY!!! Upon checking in, they didn't give me any problems. There was customer at the desk requesting a refund due to poor quality of beds, and he said that the "resort" was not what he had expected. The lady at the front desk was very rude to him and stated that "that was not going to happen"....Now to the room. Looked cleaned when we checked in...Ummmm, my feet have not been that dirty since I was a little girl. There was sand on the floor that could've been vacuumed. There was the prior users hair in the bathtub. The tv in the living room area had smeared hand prints all over the screen. It didn't smell dirty, but it didn't smell like it had just been cleaned. The light bulb was out in the living room ceiling fan. We told them, and they promptly changed it.. I carry clorox cleaner, and cleaned it before using! Now, for the beds. OMG! My back is still killing me! It was the worst mattress that I've ever slept on. I actually slept more on the beach, than I did in the room. The stove was clean, the fridge was clean, walls appeared clean, the ceiling was stained by the bedroom door. There was only AC in the front room. If you sleep in the back and it's in the 90's when your there. It is not enough, even with leaving the bedroom door open. They gave us (2 adults) a room without a couch. It had a bed in the living room...Why do 2 people need a room with 3 beds in it? We were on the 3rd floor. Room 305. I will say the view is awesome and that the elevator is a plus. It is relatively a non party, quiet motel. The resturant on the 1st floor is under new ownership. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Only got a coffee there, and the girl told me she just brewed it. LOL It was cold. I told her, and she immediately brewed a new pot. Nice and hot!
