I arrived for a 1 night stay before midday thus had to wait a couple of hours to be checked in.
Free shuttle to and from LGA was excellent - it took 15 mins max and starts running at 4h30.
I paid USD150 using CAA/AAA.
Was upgraded to a high floor room as I am Starwood Gold. Also given access to Exec Floor but did not use it.
Room was a good size, bathroom small and ordinary. 2 free bottles of water was a nice touch.
Subway 2 blocks away for an approx 25 min ride to Times Square.
The area surrounding the hotel is Asian. Expect alot of foot traffic and the usual Chinese type stores, restaurants. Area is safe - no problems walking around after midnight.
I would stay again unless something cheaper could be found in the LGA area.

“A calm haven in an interesting nieghborhood--close to airport”

Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel

A weather-related shut-down of LaGuardia Airport gave me the "opportunity" to spend three nights in three different rooms in this Flushing, NY hotel. The Asian decor and overall tone is calming and serene. The rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. The bathrooms are are perfectly fine, nothing special. I had stayed at a Sheraton in Manhattan on the same trip--same set-up in much smaller rooms.
The courtesy LaGuardia shuttle was reliable and provided peace of mind every time I needed it; first run to LaGuardia is at 4:30 a.m. The new Deluge Restaurant had a varied menu including nice small plate options. Room service was prompt if limited in offerings. Staff was always courteous, professional, and friendly. The surrounding Little Asia neighborhood is fascinating--and provides everything from tea shops, noodle houses, and jade jewellers to a nearby Duane-Reade Pharmacy, Old Navy, Benetton Outlet Store, and Burger King. There's a pretty 1850s-era Episcopal church nearby. Commuter train to Manhattan is a few blocks away. The business center is limited--just one computer and you have to sign in at reception to use it--but there's no charge (I paid $8.00 for 20 minutes in Manhattan). If you need a comfortable spot near LaGuardia OR are looking to save a few bucks but have good access to the Big Apple, Shea Stadium, or other area attractions I recommend this hotel. It's defintely a cut above most airport hotels.

“This is a great place to stay!”

Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel

My family of four just stayed 2 nights in 2 rooms at the Sheraton LaGuardia. We had 3 different flight departure times, and 2 different arrival times, and one wedding reception to attend. The airport shuttle got quite a work out, and came through every time. The transportation is superb.

The rooms are fabulous, the executive level hospitality suite friendly and quiet, and the staff very friendly.

The restaurant is closed except for breakfast (eggs, bacon, french toast, pastries) but there are probably 50 restaurants within a 2 block area---many Asian restaurants, but hamburgers including Joe's, McDonalds, and Burger King are close by.

the 7 train gets you downtown almost as fast as the cab---you get to choose.

I recommend this hotel highly. Great Asian decor, helpful staff, fair price, close to LaGuardia, but no jet noise.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Being starwood preferred members, we were upgraded to the 15th floor (the hotel has 16 floors) room, with an incredible view of Shea, Manhattan, and Queens, and access to the club room on the 16th floor. Our room was very quiet, especially considering that LaGuardia is 3 miles away, and planes come in and out all the time. We heard nothing all night. The decor was somewhat asian (laquer tables, oriental rug, dark walls), and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.
Downtown Flushing is bustling these days, with restaurants and cafes everywhere. The asian-inspired hotel has a lot of character and fits into the personality of the area.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — The views, the staff, how surprisingly quiet it was (considering it was near LaGuardia!)
    • Disliked — With everything else being so wonderful, the bathroom was just average (not bad, but average).

“Terrible”

Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel

Stayed here one night--one night too many. This is no 4-star. The bed was sunken on one side and the other side was prickly hard. The sheets were scratchy, the blanket were polyester. The switchplate in the tiny bathroom was so dirty that I had to wash it first before I would touch it. This hotel has seen its day and it is years overdue for a complete remodel. It's shabby. One of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a while. Stay in Manhattan. Also, the hotel restaurant was closed for renovations. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were raving about--I couldn't find one thing right.
