Spent two nights on half board basis, with meals taken at the La Digue Island Lodge (free shuttle).
Our chalet was perfectly clean, with large accomodation, nice outdoor "terrasse", beach chairs, etc.
With only four villas (two of them unoccupied), located in a park that is supposed to be closed from 5 pm to 9 am, quietness is guaranteed. And having the park, and access to famous anse source d'argent beach, for yourself is great. Meals at the Island Lodge were good (if you order wine and do not finish your bottle, the restaurant does not keep it for you: you are asked to take the bottle back to your room and then back to the restaurant for next meal. Strange and un convenient when your room is a chalet you reach with a shuttle...). Shuttle always responded to our move requests (within 15 minutes) and luggage delivery or check-in / out perfectly organized.
Anyhow people including both tourists and locals do come in the park when gate is closed as it is easy to walk along the beach (but safety / security not at stake). Furthermore, at low tide, it is impossible to swim or even soak in the ocean in front of the villa and beaches within walking distance have the same drawbacks (soaking possible at L'Anse Source d'Argent; otherwise: shuttle to La Digue Island Lodge to use pool). Quietness comes at a price: having to call for a shuttle to reach the Island Lodge (where meals are taken and from which bicycles can be rent for isntance). Sometimes we had to argue to get a shuttle when we had already made the "breakfast" rotation. With a location at the very end of the one and only road of the island, the chalets are not well located to explore the island. Finally, even if chaletsdeare not numerous they are close to each other so do not expect the top of intimacy.
That is why the chalets seem to me appropriate for people wanting to stay on their own (chalet have a large kitchen) instead of using the Island Lodge restaurant. Or for short stays only. As for us, after two days, we were tired of using the shuttle and started getting bored with the unswimmable beaches around us.
