We stayed two nights. This is an old style downtown hotel that appears to have been built in the 1920's or thereabouts. Our room was actually a two-room suite with 1 1/2 baths and two separate entrances - very spacious and bright...it was nice having separate TV's in the sleeping and sitting room. One bed was a bit "creaky" but the other was fine. Rooms were clean although some of the furnishings were rather worn, as in water damage to the tops of tables and a bit of wear on the bedspreads and linens. Bathrooms were acceptable, although the grout needs some deep cleaning in spots. This hotel was quiet and peaceful. Parking is ample. Complimentary toiletries are fine. The lobby is spacious and impressive; rather victorian looking. The breakfast buffet was the typical carb-fest of bread-based products - expect to pay an additiional price of a few dollars more for eggs and a side meat such as bacon or sausage. The indoor pool is clean and attractive. We noticed at least one bus group at this hotel during our stay. AAA rates this hotel as a three star, but we think it is more of a upper-end two star establishment. For the price we paid ($119 a night for the suite) we thought it was average and we would recommend this hotel for the traveller looking for a quiet, spacious, no frills room/suite.
