I first visited The Bush Spa in 2009, after having it recommended to me by the guys at Flatdogs Camp. They couldn't have been more right - in between game drives, Nathalie came and picked us up, and took us to the spa for a couple of hours of pure bliss. Time in the jacuzzi, a body wrap and massage were just what the doctor ordered to soothe away the safari aches and pains. Nathalie also prepared some stunning Kigelia ointment to put on our itching mozzie and tsetse fly bites - such a lovely touch!
My second visit to the spa was in 2010 - again, collected from the camp and dropped off again, fitting into the middle of the day so we didn't miss any safari activities. But one visit wasn't enough this time - we went back the next day for another couple of hours! During my massage, the therapist asked me if I could please sit up for a moment - which I thought was a bit strange, until I sat up and saw there was an elephant wandering through the lagoon that the spa looks down on - so calm and peaceful ,it was a real treat to watch! This visit we had manicures, pedicures, body scrubs, massages, and an AMAZING head massage and hair treatment.
On my recent trip to South Luangwa in July this year, I took my mum along with me to experience the amazing feats of Nathalie and "her girls" - they welcomed me like an old friend, then worked wonders on my badly chapped heels, and again, I went back the next day for a body scrub, mud wrap and massage....
No visit to South Luangwa is complete without it - seriously, I can't recommend it highly enough.. you'll just have to experience it for yourself!
