The first time my family and I stayed here it was 3 years ago. At that time this hotel was run by Clarion apparently under a higher standard than the new Ramada management. I initially booked 2 rooms for the weekend of August 24th thru 26th on expedia at a much higher rate than I had on my first stay 3 years ago for the same room size (King). I cancelled that booking due to the inflated rate and looked for another hotel. After looking directly on the Ramada website I found availability for 2 Queen size rooms at a lower rate which did not show as available on the expedia website. I booked those 2 Queen size rooms directly with the Hotel. I confirmed by reservation numbers as well as the gentleman who I spoke with and the pricing for the rooms.
Upon arrival the gentleman at the service desk who checked us in took my card information as well as my in-laws as we were paying for the two rooms separately. We provided him with our AAA card information as we were told we would receive an additional 10% discount. We signed the check-in which only provided the total for 2 nights with the tax but did not show the breakdown per night or reflect the discounts. The total pricing however appeared to be correct for $99.00 per night plus taxes. When we arrived at our rooms they were King size beds rather than Queen. We were under the impression that perhaps they had overbooked and provided us with the King size rooms at the same price.
The bathtubs in both the rooms backed up, and the hairdryers did not work and the over all cleanliness could have been better. Ice machines did not work on any floors. My in-laws went to breakfast on Saturday morning and called my husband and I before we went down so we wouldn't waste our time.
On Saturday early evening when we arrived back to our rooms after being at an event for the day we were unable to gain entry. When we went to the front desk we were told that our room cards had not been authorized for two nights, that there was confusion with the booking and we had to provide our credit card information again as well as our AAA cards even though we provided those at check in on Friday night. We voiced that the gentleman who checked us in on Friday did not mention any issue and that it would have been nice to have known in advance so we could have cleared up any confusion at that time.
At check out we were billed a different price than at check-in and my mother in-law had to provide her billing information for a 3rd time. After reviewing the bill I debated the charges as they were significantly higher than those that we signed for at check-in. The woman working at guest services had to go back through the check-in slips from Friday and find our originals. She stated that we were billed a different amount because we were provided a larger room even though I requested, received confirmations for and signed off on the pricing for a Queen Size room. I told her that neither of us were going to pay the higher price. I had the name of the employee I booked with, my reservation numbers, and the check-in receipts. It seems as though there was an overall lack of communication and documentation. The women then commented that the gentleman who checked us in should be fired which is an unprofessional comment to make in front of guests. She printed us out slips with refunds for both of our rooms on the incorrect amount that was charged. Shortly thereafter I received a voicemail that the final bill she provided to us did not reflect all the fees as they had not been tallied correctly and she would have to bill our cards additional amounts!
We will not be wasting our money again here in the future and any additional fees that Ramada attempts to charge to my card after they provided me with the final bill will be disputed with my credit card company.
