This was recommended by a local in Athens, when asking our Motel reception to book us a cab there (It's in Finika & not Oia as this review heading states; just out of Oia, Fira side) her quick reply was there's nothing there. From a general tourist perspective of shopping & the like she's right but in amongst the township is this adorable little restaurant.
Our cab initially dropped us off on the hwy @ Finika's restaurant & cafe, so we had to then walk into the town which was a experience. It was like a ghost town with alleyways so tight you could barely walk through. After eventually finding some locals (it's a bit of a ghost town) we got directions to the restaurant. They have a outdoor woodwire oven & from our seating we could see right into the restaurant kitchen & see everything being cooked fresh, it was quite a experience.
We ordered local rose (Ean) from a winery just down the road. Local greens, fritter's & saganaki entree's & claypot lamb & marinated chicken for main both served with handcut chips.
Highly recommend this for anyone looking to get out of Oia or Fira for a night for some authentic local cuisine in a beautiful little village.
