“Great Oia Accommodation”

Hotel Volcano's Villas

9 Jul 2008

We stayed at the Volcano Villas for 3 nights in September 2007. We had actually booked accomodation on the other side of Santorini at Perissa Beach, and were terribly disappointed when we arrived. That was not the Santorini we had imagined! We did a quick web search for accommodation in Oia and found the Villas; they had a room for 4 people at short notice and so off we went.
The hotel is in a gorgeous position with beautiful views over the volcano. The rooms are not fancy but are spotless are charming in a traditional Greek way. There is a little kitchenette if you want to prepare your own food. From our room we could walk straight out to the pool, or just sit at our little table and admire the view. We had breakfast each morning on the breakfast balcony overlooking the pool and the volcano. The breakfasts were not fancy but very delicious, including fresh yoghurt and honey, and coffee frappes.
The hotel is not in the centre of town and was great for a relaxing, peaceful stay. It was only about 15-20 minutes walk into the centre of town where we found some great restaurants, there were also some much closer but we didn't try them.
The manager was very helpful and organised Quad Bike rental for us and our transfer back to the airport. When all four in our group became ill he organised a local (English-speaking) doctor to come and visit us at the hotel which was very much appreciated.
I would definitely stay in the Volcano Villas again because they were quiet, relaxing and reasonably priced in what is otherwise a very beautiful but expensive tourist town. The location and views make this a great place to stay.

We just returned from 6 nights at this hotel. I booked it based on reviews on this website. It was a very nice hotel. We had a 3 person apartment with an upstairs loft. The view from our balcony was unbelievable, the owner was helpful, the kitchette was small but servicable. You wouldn't want to cook a lot there, but we did cook dinner one night. It is about a 15 minute walk into Oia which is just lovely. You can hike about three hours to Fira which I would definately recommend. Santorini Moi, the taverna across the street had great food and a great fun atmosphere, we eat their our first and last night. This hotel is a good value, much less expensive than most of the hotels in Oia. I would go back to this hotel and was very pleased with everything we encountered. We did not rent a car or scooter, but were fine with walking into Oia and did a day tour that we booked in Oia of the island that turned out to be a private tour since we were the only ones who signed up.

“Amazing scenery and away from the crowds”

Hotel Volcano's Villas

26 Jun 2008

I booked the hotel after doing much research on the island of Santorini, web browsing to see which area was the nicest and also reading reviews on this website. But was still a bit apprehensive... Didn't need to be - a taxi was waiting for us on arrival and only 20 or so minutes to the hotel. When we got to the hotel we were extremely pleased with the location of our room - it looked straight out into the caldera, amazing view. The pool was nice but think the hotel could do with another pool area as towards the end of our week it was a bit crowded - it was definately getting busier as the week went on.
The breakfast was lovely and the hotel served drinks in the day but didn't have any other facility to serve food. Although, there is a restaurant almost opposite which is much cheaper than the central Oia restaurants - slightly mad owner but food is good and good if you like a good sing song/dance!

We just returned from Greece..did most of our bookings when we arrived there..An Athens Travel Agent booked Volcano Villas for us based on the fact that I knew we wanted to stay in Oia, and the price point. We were in a bit of flap when we booked it so had forgotten to ask the exact location of the hotel, so as we are on the local bus heading towards Oia, we realized we had NO clue where it was. When we drove past the Hotel, and we were not yet in the town of Oia, I was a bit concerned, but we jumped off the bus, and made the short 5 minute trek back. We were very impressed with the outward appearance, and when we were assured that it was a nice 10-15 minute walk on a scenic caldera pathway to town, we were happy. There was also a Great Taverna across the street, plus a Mini Market that we could grab some beer from as well as a few munchies to help us get started on our relax. We stayed there 3 nights and it was wonderful....great breakfast in the morning allowing us to connect with other travellers, the rooms were clean and modern, nice pool with a view....The walk into town was as advertised, very lovely and scenic. Highly recomend it

“wonderful stay at the Volcanos Villas in oia”

Hotel Volcano's Villas

We had a wonderful stay here last September. My boyfriend
proposed to me here and it was just perfect! I booked this
hotel Volcanos Villas in oia over the internet after reading the great reviews on
this site. We were not disappointed. The hotel is run
professionally and with a really relaxed, friendly feel
to it. The weather was stunning while we were there and it was
fantastic
We stayed here at the end of a two month trip through Europe
and we really appreciated the relaxing atmosphere of this spot.
The pool was gorgeous to dip into on the hot afternoons.

Breakfast of the Volcanos Villas hotel was yummy and set us up nicely for the day. One night
we caught the bus into Oia and got a glimpse of the stunning
sunset from the clifftop location. We were glad we decided to
stay at oia and in to thi hotel

Just one more point: when our ferry was delayed by 5 hours
(upon our depature!) George found out and arranged our transfer
to arrive later (to save us waiting at the port). This was much
appreciated. If I was to book this trip again, I would choose
to travel by aeroplane rather than the very slow ferry!!! In
the end the ferry was so late we had to go striaght to the
airport from the port (despite booking a night's accommodation
in Athens!). Take the plane if you have the option! :)

We absolutely loved Santorini and Kamari Beach (and of course
volcano villa hotel !) and would definiely travel there again! :)
