We stayed at the Volcano Villas for 3 nights in September 2007. We had actually booked accomodation on the other side of Santorini at Perissa Beach, and were terribly disappointed when we arrived. That was not the Santorini we had imagined! We did a quick web search for accommodation in Oia and found the Villas; they had a room for 4 people at short notice and so off we went.
The hotel is in a gorgeous position with beautiful views over the volcano. The rooms are not fancy but are spotless are charming in a traditional Greek way. There is a little kitchenette if you want to prepare your own food. From our room we could walk straight out to the pool, or just sit at our little table and admire the view. We had breakfast each morning on the breakfast balcony overlooking the pool and the volcano. The breakfasts were not fancy but very delicious, including fresh yoghurt and honey, and coffee frappes.
The hotel is not in the centre of town and was great for a relaxing, peaceful stay. It was only about 15-20 minutes walk into the centre of town where we found some great restaurants, there were also some much closer but we didn't try them.
The manager was very helpful and organised Quad Bike rental for us and our transfer back to the airport. When all four in our group became ill he organised a local (English-speaking) doctor to come and visit us at the hotel which was very much appreciated.
I would definitely stay in the Volcano Villas again because they were quiet, relaxing and reasonably priced in what is otherwise a very beautiful but expensive tourist town. The location and views make this a great place to stay.
