Stairs, Stairs, Stairs! Before I discuss Esperas you should be forewarned that staying in Oia in Santorini means cliffs and stairs. If you can't handle the stairs, then don't stay in Oia.
Oia is a wonderful place and beautiful in the evening and also very romantic. After spending countless hours researching hotels on Tripadvisor, we chose Esperas, and we are very glad we did! We took a delayed honeymoon and stayed in one of the honeymoon suites (Room 102). Try and get this room since it has amazing views. Amy, Yvonne, and the rest of the staff could not have been any nicer or more knowledgeable of the area. Our room overlooked the caldera, which was amazing, and incredibly romantic, especially while watching the sunset.
We visited other areas of Santorini, and Oia was by far the nicest. We loved walking to the town of Oia each day which is a short walk (up stairs) from the hotel. The bus stop is also very close to the hotel, and if you want to rent a car, Yvonne or Amy will gladly help you out with that (we rented a car for a day and we highly suggest it).
For people coming from the US please be aware that the shower stalls in Europe are much different than the US so your shower may not feel as great. Also, the breakfast, although rather simple, did include everything we could have wanted. We did not eat at the restaurant at Esperas since we wanted to eat in the town of Oia. We highly recommend the restaurant Skiza, which is in the town of Oia--the manager is very funny (from Ireland), and the food is fantastic. We strongly recommend Esperas!
