We had booked 2 nights through Expedia at a nearby hotel, but inexplicably that room was no longer available to us, so we were moved to the Arressana.

To our delight, this hotel was wonderful. Nice rooms, great bathrooms, luxurious toiletries, a gift of sweets upon entering the room.

The breakfast room was bright, and they offered many Greek specialties in addition to the typical hotel breakfast. My dad thought the french toast was the best he has ever had. I loved the domatokeftedes, the regional cheeses and the loukamades.

The location was great, convenient for walking to shopping and the KTEL station.

My husband and I stayed at the Aressana Hotel for 2 nights (Oct. 9-10. Note: The busses cannot drive up the hill to the top where the hotel is located so be prepared to walk up a steep hill to get to the hotel. The hotel is a nice boutique hotel and was renovated in 2006. Easy check-in/out. Staff was friendly and courteous. We had a king size bed which was great but I have to tell you that the bathroom was the smallest bathroom I have ever been in ...its about the size of an airplane's bathroom and I'm not kidding. Overall, there is no view from this hotel, however, this is the best location in the area. You are steps away to viewing the caldera and being on the ocean. Shopping mecca for those who like to shop. The buffet breakfast was good and tasty - quite a few greek surpirses!!! I would recommend this hotel for its location. If you want a view, then this is definitely not the place to be. Personally, I would opt for a view. By the way, bring comfortable walking shoes - cobble stone steps are everywhere.

We only stayed here one night unfortunately, but next time we come back to Santorini we will be back at Aressana Hotel, and would highly recommend this hotel. What a lovely place! Our room was perfect, spacious (especially compared to other European hotels), very clean and comfortable. It is also one of the few that has rooms to sleep a family of 4. It is situated in the perfect position to the Fira shops and restaurants and just a few steps away from the magnificent sunset view. (Wow!) And within short walk just up the hill from the bus stop.

The breakfast was absolutely charming - very authentic Greek (after all that is what we are there for, isnt it?) My girls loved the risogalo! My family enjoyed the lovely pool very much, it is extremely deep so is very suited to a teenaged family especially, and the beautiful little reading area with the big wicker chairs is gorgeous.

The staff were very helpful and they have free internet (although this is probably not a good idea, as it may be better to charge a small fee due to people being reluctant to move once on it).

Overall this hotel has wonderful character and charm and greatly enhanced our short but enjoyable stay in Santorini. Thank you Aressana!

We had a lovely stay here at then end of Sept. We booked online directly with the hotel and they were very responsive and helpful in emails. At their suggestion, I booked the ferry through
www.openseas.gr and picked up the tickets at a local travel agency when we arrived. This hotel was in a perfect location, close to the view and town. The hotel staff were extra helpful. They recommended a 5 hour boat cruise (Thalassa) which we thoroughly enjoyed. Took the donkey ride up after the cruise. They also set up a one day car rental which worked out great. We left the car at the ferry port for our next journey. Recommend seeing the different beaches, Oia, and sunsets.
BTW - we did not see the breakfast egg sign as mentioned in an earlier review but scrambled eggs did come out about 10 min before we were done. Nice touch is the free pc in lobby
for the internet. The bathroom was tiny and we even paid for the superior room. So, not sure what the size of the standard room would be. Balcony was a nice size. Tips: There is a supermarket to get cokes and snacks cheaper than the hotel mini bar. Go down the hill to the next corner and make a right. Then about 50 feet. Cab from airport to hotel should be 10 euro.
Try Murphy's for drinks.

A pleasant stay at this hotel which was enhanced by the fact that it is beautifully located with a fair view. The staff were pleasant and helpful, except there were not irons available for our use! We were quite put off by having to pay money for a quick 10 second job we could have done ourselves.

THe breakfast could have been better with a greater variety of foods.

The room was clean, modern, the bed comfortable and a beautiful touch was the gift in the room of traditional preserves and sweet Santorinian wine. Made us feel very at home/

In reference to a previous review about chicken farms being in close proximity, i would hardly say that one excitable rooster was such a traumatic experience-rather it added to the charm of the place and a bit of humour.
