“Highly recommended place to stay!!!!”

Hotel & Suites Aressana

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aressana Hotel. Although we had read other reviews on here before booking, the hotel even surpassed our expectations. This is due to the fact that it has undergone a significant facelift for 2008. A spa is being finished at the moment and the whole hotel is being themed as a spa resort.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful and on arrival made us feel very welcome. Our room was just right, nice size, decent bathroom plus a balcony which was great for sitting out in for the late afternoon sun.

The breakfast was nice, lots of choice of food and the freshly made omlettes were a particular highlight my wife and I enjoyed. The pool area was spot on too. It has a decent sized pool (certainly large enough considering most other guests thought the water was too cold to venture in so plenty of room for us!). The pool area has a really interesting array of four poster style benches with plump cushions. Be warned though - you need to get poolside early to claim one for the day!

Location wise the hotel was in a perfect spot for exploring Fira. It is on the edge of town but close to everything including the cable car within a 10 minute walk.

We recommend trying the restaurants away from the Caldera view which offer far better value for money - particularly Nicolas and Dionysis, both on the same street close to each other. The hotel doesn't serve evening meals but does serve food at lunch by the pool though we didn't try this offering.

We will certainly stay at this hotel again when we come back to Santorini sometime.

“Loved the Aressana Hotel”

Hotel & Suites Aressana

We have just come back from Santorini, where we stayed at the Aressana Hotel. We would have no problem in recomending this hotel to anyone who wants to be in Fira.

We knew of this hotel for some time before going there, as we had watched the reviews for it for quite a while before hand.

The hotel is right in the middle of Fira , two minutes from the main square and view point. I will say though that although right in the middle of what is going on, this hotel is in fact in a really quiet spot. Away from the clubs etc! But, is still only a few mins walk from all the cafe's resteraunts and clubs if you want that.

The hotel has just been refurbished and the pics on line are mostly out of date. They are going more for the spa feel of hotel there now, and the look and feel of it is now very modern classic greek style, very swish and comfortable. The art work everywhere is lovely too.

The staff are all without exception, friendly, helpful and kind. You really don't need the services of a rep there as the reception staff speak very good English and are always ready to help.

My husband was very poorly when we arrived and the reception sent a maid straight away to help me sort out the room, even though it was early in the morning. He quickly recovered though and we had a lovely holiday there.

They went out of their way to make sure that the men there could see the F A Cup Final on the telly too which was very sweet of them. Saved us going to find a bar that was showing it.

The pool area was lovely too. The pool was more like a large lap pool and had a jacuzzi at one end. There were muslin covered sofas or day beds , with room for two around the pool as well as the usual sun loungers. Very comfy, and the staff brought bottled water in ice buckets around for everyone there, which again was a nice touch.

We were able to get omelettes and sandwiches etc at the pool bar for lunch, but I do take the point that was in a previous review that it might have been nice to have dinner there some nights. It was lovely and warm in the day time but the wind did come in at night. So it would have been nice to stay at the hotel some evenings.

Another thing that I thought was good, was that I did get a couple of emails from the hotel in reply to mine, before we travelled. Not a thing that happens often I have found!!!!!

Well done Aressanna, we will probably come back to you again one day.

“Excellent Hotel”

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. We were 2 couples with two kids and had booked 2 rooms. The service was great and the staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good too and since we were vegetarians they went our of their way to make a few items out of the ordinary buffet. We left a few things at the hotel and the staff kept it for us and even posted the articles to our address. This was very nice of them. I recommend this hotel to any one who is visiting Santorini.

“A nice, clean hotel”

Hotel & Suites Aressana

The Aressana was a very nice, clean hotel. We were in a good location for getting around Fira. The one drawback was that there is not a restaurant in the hotel (they do serve breakfast).. This ordinarily wouldn't be a problem, but we had some VERY bad weather while in Santorini and were forced to go out to eat when perhaps that day we would have preferred to stay in. Overall our stay was very good though.

“Greek Living”

Hotel & Suites Aressana

28 Apr 2008

The Aressana Hotel is a very nice and very greek hotel. The location has been renovated and refurbished recently so interior pictures are no longer accurate. It's very modern and sleek, and to keep in line with the locale, very white. The front desk staff was very very helpful upon checking in; providing a map of the island, a more detailed map of Fira and local places of interest. We rented an ATV through the hotel and someone came to pick us up to take us to the rental location. Be advised that it is on top of a hill so the climb up the main drive is steep and to go back to the airport you have to wait for transportation at the bottom of hill (the hotel will help with some of the luggage). The hotel kindly upgraded our bed after the first night. They switched out the customary two single beds for one king, which was very nice, but they didn't close the door upon their exit. Thankfully the island is very safe and nothing was missing. Overall a nice place to stay on a beautiful island.
