The directions we were given by the car rental agency were not good, so when we finally arrived at Pantelia Suites were were stressed and irritable. But when Yulie opened the door to our suite, we took one look at the accomodation and the incredible view and our stress melted instantly away. The room was tastefully furnished, the bath large and brightly tiled in blue glass. Yulie supplies the rooms with a bottle of wine from Santorini and plush terrycloth robes and slippers. Everything was immaculately clean. Perched at the top of the calderia in Santorini, Pantelia Suites has by far the best view on the island and perhaps the best place to watch the famous sunset was on our deck sipping a glass of wine. Very romantic! After a good night's sleep on the excellent mattress (Greece is notorious for it's hard-as-rock bedding!) we called down for breakfast, which was served at our own table on the deck outside our door. And what a breakfast! Yulie bakes all her own breads and croissants and makes jams to accompany them. Fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurt, eggs, cold meats and cheeses as well as any kind of coffee you request literally covered every available space on our table. But as most travelers know, it is not just the accommodations and food that makes a place great. The people do. Yulie was available to us at all times to help with restaurant choices and general Santorini information. A better hostess we could not have imagined. We have already referred Pantelia Suites to travelers we met subsequently in Crete and will continue to remember it as one of the best places we have ever stayed. We will be back.
