I don't understand the previous bad reviews of this hotel. I recently stayed there with my two young children, 3 and 5, overnight in order to catch an early morning flight. The hotel was an average hotel. It was not a resort like hotel, however it was an average hotel, what is to be expected for an airport hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but enough for one night. The room was very clean. The beds were quite comfortable. There was extended cable and wireless internet. The staff was very helpful and courtious. I had a lot of luggage and the staff was very nice about helping me bring the luggage to and from my room. My girls and I ate at the restaurant, which has diner food, but it was very good. I especially liked the fact that I was able to park my car at the hotel for a week for only a few dollars more than than the average hotel room price. This is a lot less that I would have had to pay to park a car at the airport. There is also an airport shuttle that runs every ten minutes that is convenient. Overall I had a good stay. This is a good hotel for a short stay.

Lets just say the only good thing about this hotel is the location. They really need to update the hotel. It is old for one thing. The air conditioner was very weak in our room. This wouldn't be bad if it wasn't 91 degrees that day. There is not an elevator in the hotel so you have to carry all your bags upstairs if your on the second floor. The drain in the tub did not empty for 1 hour. There wasnt a light in the bathroom. The lounge was closed. The list goes on and on. If this hotel is going to be a stop so many business travelers they need to update this hotel. This represents Syracuse as soon as travelers get into town. I will not stay ever again.

Upon returning from my 20th college reunion, I stayed with a friend at the Best Western Syracuse Airport -- as we both had to catch 6:00 a.m. flights on a Sunday morning. After dropping off our rental car, we called the hotel from the airport to request the courtesy shuttle back to the hotel. The front desk person said that they would pick us up in 10-15 minutes, but it ended up being 25 minutes and another phone call until the front desk person -- who also drove the courtesy shuttle -- picked us up. We could have walked to the hotel faster. The room itself was spartan and not entirely clean. The bed was uncomfortable and the service was poor. I would caution anyone from staying here. I suppose that they must get away with such poor quality because the hotel is next to the airport.

I have to say that the dorm room where we stayed during college reunion was only a small step below the Best Western Syracuse Airport.

The Best Western at the Syracuse Airport is typical Best Western 2-Star quality.

That means the facility is reasonably clean and safe but is not a 'vacation' experience.

The walls were thin and of course the noisy night-owls were next to our room.

Given that my only reason for staying there was an early-morning flight, the hotel was adequate and the initial price quoted was acceptable.

Where they get you though is on the parking.

When we told them we were parking two cars they informed us that we were no longer eligible for the 'discounted rate' and whacked us for another $40.

They were so wrapped up in not letting anyone get away with 'free' airport parking they completely forgot what quality and customer service was all about.

And the $40 parking surcharge was on top of being treated like a lowbrow scam artist and 'being allowed' to bend the rules.

Believe me, if I had driven all the way to Syracuse to cheat some local hick out of a couple nights parking, I would have done it at a much better quality hotel.

In the future I will stay at the Wyndham which is a few miles away but they have a free shuttle to the airport, they don't quibble over the parking, and the hotel is of much nicer quality.
