“Fantastic!”

Olde Rhinebeck Inn

Definitely the best b&b experience I've ever had. The best of both worlds; a historic home with modern amenities. The food is unbelievable. And the activities in the area are great.

Jonna did a fantastic job of restoring the inn while respecting its history. The inn is very cozy and comfortable. I love the decor - not flowery and overly decorated as many b&b's seem to be. Jonna maintains a professional atmosphere, however, Jonna sets such a comfortable tone that I felt as though we had known her for years. This may seem a weird way of describing her, but we just kept saying that she seemed like the most 'normal' innkeeper we had ever met!

We stayed in the Plow & Harrow room. All of the rooms (except for the Ryefield Suite - which seemed a bit dark and claustrophobic because of the low ceiling) seem like great options. What I loved most about the P&H room is the bathroom. The tub was a dream and I loved the farm house-yet sophisticated decor. The bed was very comfortable. I also appreciated all of the available sitting areas within the room. Best of all, the place was spotless. This is the first place I've stayed where I didn't feel compelled to give the tub a thorough cleaning before taking a soak!

You can't go wrong here. I almost hesitate to post this review so I can keep this precious gem all to myself!

“We loved the Olde Rhinebeck Inn”

I stayed at the Olde Rhinebeck Inn from 8/10/07 to 8/12/07 with my wife and 2 friends. We had a marvelous time and were delighted with the accommodations and the personal attention that we received from Jonna, the innkeeper. Our room was decorated with antiques and vintage pieces as well as folk art touches. There were great amenities, including a remote-control air conditioner, TV, CD player, refrigerator with complimentary beverages and plush bathrobes. The room had a balcony overlooking the pond and the lawns. Our bathroom was large, had a Jacuzzi and great decorative touches such as a painted mirror and an Edwardian washstand. The towels were luxurious.

I should also mention the fabulous breakfasts prepared by Jonna. These included scones, fresh fruit, an incredible frittata, turnovers and a remarkable pear-custard pancake.

Jonna is a wonderful host and has a great sense of humor. She made us feel like guests in her home and not just tourists. She was also very helpful with restaurant reservations, directions and information about tours of historic houses.

An added bonus was the presence of Strudel, a long-haired dachshund, who is the beloved pet of the house, 2 ducks, chickens and 2 goats.

We can't recommend the Inn highly enough.

“Perfect Ten at the Olde Rhinebeck Inn”

This was a PERFECT TEN!

My wife and I spent our Silver Wedding Anniversary with Jonna at the Olde Rhinebeck Inn in Rhinebeck, New York, and we had our most wonderful B&B experience ever!

Ten years ago Jonna converted a 1745 farmhouse into a rustic, charming, but thoroughly modern Bed and Breakfast, and I was astonished at the "buzz" this place has generated after only ten years. Jonna is extremely friendly and accomodating, and a fantastic cook. Breakfasts were stupendous, delicious and huge; something for everyone. Many herbs, vegetables, and eggs came from her own backyard. She always prepared fresh fruit, fresh juice, a meat, an egg dish, and casserole or pancake, in the French country style. And Jonna sits down to breakfast with us, and is a delightful conversationalist.

On our anniversary a dozen roses appeared in our room, and Jonna booked a private table for us at a fantastic local restaurant she recommended. It was a perfect evening.

The rooms were spacious, the beds very comfortable, and the air conditioning excellent even in 100 degree weather.

Jonna has a great eye for detail, as does her wonderful assistant Jessica.

Everything is so delightful that both we and the other couple there booked further weekends coming up this year with Jonna at the Olde Rhinebeck Inn.

“What a way to spend a silver anniversary!”

We stayed 5 nights for our 25th anniversary. The inn is charming. The rooms are inviting and comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful during 90 degree plus weather. There was plenty of hot water and lots of special touches such as high quality toiletries, special soap, a shaving mirror which was great for me to check out the back of my hair--something many places never think of!

Upon arrival we found candy, fresh fruit, homemade goodies, and bottled water waiting to refresh us. We were surprised on our special day by a dozen roses. Our every need was met-most before we even expressed them. Jonna (the owner) and Jessica (her able assistant) were friendly, helpful and able to advise in touring possibilities and restaurant choices. Jonna even made our special dinner reservations for us. They are both terrific cooks and provide a breakfast with something for everyone.

If you are looking for high technology, chrome, modern art and sculpture, then the Olde Rhinebeck Inn is probably not for you. But if you want charming, comfortable and gracious service in a historic setting with great food and conversation, then hurry to the Olde Rhinebeck Inn! Upon our departure we made reservations for 4 more nights in December. The other couple who left the same morning planned to return as well.

Thank you to Jonna and Jessica and the Olde Rhinebeck Inn!

“What the Doctor ordered”

Olde Rhinebeck Inn

2/2 found this review helpful

My husband and I were way overdue for a romantic weekend adventure and the Olde Rhinebeck Inn was just what the doctor ordered. We stayed in the Spirited Dove room, which was bright and cheerful and had a sweet little balcony where we shared a glass of wine by candlelight. Everything about the Inn is top notch, from the linens to the plush robes to the flowers and china plate filled with fresh baked cookies, chocolates and fruits that awaited us. The breakfasts were delicious and well planned with sweet and savory offerings and made with eggs just picked from the inns' chickens! The Innkeeper, Jonna, gives you only as much attention as you want and you can trust her recommendations in a town loaded with excellent restaurants, many owned from graduates of the Culinary Institute in neaby Hyde Park.
