We have stayed at the Microtel in Victor, NY, numerous times on our way from Ohio, where we live now, to our native New England. For our money, Microtels are the best bargain on the road: very low prices, but better quality than other low-price chains. The rooms are average size, always neat and clean, and adquately equipped; some include micro-fridges. Complimentary breakfast OK. Staff is usually very cordial and helpful. Only drawbacks: (1) side of motel nearest NY Thruway gets lots of traffic noise, including loud thump of big trucks hitting a rough spot, SO ASK FOR A ROOM NOT ON THE THRUWAY SIDE; (2) motel is "pet-hostile," not only not allowing them, but threatening to charge $30 if one is discovered; (3) "Micro-Pass" loyalty program does not automatically record your stay; you have to demand it at desk; (4) no elevator to 2nd floor.
