We stayed at the Hotel Carmencita in september of 2007. We enjoyed the pool after a day of sightseeing and also the location of this hotel. They had an internet area in the lobby for a minimal charge. Close to the Monte Solaro chairlift and shopping. A convenient bus stop was just outside of the property. Across the street was an excellent restaurant named "La Rondinella". We ate there three out of four nights. One night we even brought a couple of take out pizzas from them and ate on our balcony overlooking the pool. A large shop with food, deli and wine was next to the Rondinella, and we bought a few things there as well. The staff at the Hotel was helpful and friendly and we found the property was clean and the pool was very neat and well looked after. I will stay here again if I am lucky enough to return to Capri. The daytrippers arrive on Capri around ten in the morning and are gone by three. So we would time our sightseeing and eating to avoid the crowds. We ate at Da Luigi by the Faraglioni rocks. Delicious fresh seafood, and an incredible view. We also ate at Paolino, which had huge portions and an attentive staff. Capri is worth staying for a few days. Go to the villa San Michele, look at the expensive shops in Capritown with their sweet window displays, or just walk around and enjoy the scenery and people watching. A beautiful island worth visiting.
