The hotel is centrally located in Boone, which makes it very easy to get to everything, especially the summer camp that our son attends. It's also right next to a diner and down and across the street is the Sagebrush restuarant, which our family has enjoyed. The hotel lobby is warm, cozy and comfortable, with a fire, and has two computers for guests to use. The hotel staff is very friendly, accomodating, and efficient. We enjoyed the use of the indoor pool, which is also right off the main lobby. Our suite was on the ground floor and faced the rear of the hotel. We didn't hear any street noise at all. The room was clean and spacious, with two doubles and a pull out sofa/sleeper. It's not like a traditional suite, however, with seperated rooms. It didn't bother us, but keep that in mind if you are expecting a traditional suite. The beds were nice, but a little too soft for my likes. If you prefer a firm mattress like I do, you probably won't care for their beds. That said, I still slept OK. The t.v. was very nice with a great picture and plenty of channel choices. Our only complaint was the bathroom, which had a moldy type smell to it. We believe it was coming from the shower curtain. Everything else appeared to be very clean, so we were a bit surprised by that. In the end, it was not bad enough to make us leave and we were only staying for one night. We mentioned it in the survey we got from the hotel, so hopefully they took care of it. Vending was at the end of hall and they had the typical vending machine fare and an ice machine, which we used quite a bit. No problems there at all. On the second level, they serve a complimentary continental breakfast and there is an arcade with video games, air hockey, and a pool table. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel and are using it again when we pick up our son from camp next week.

Excellent choice for a stay in Boone. Spacious junior suite with fridge, microwave, and sink bar combination. Friendly staff. Convenient location (to be honest, Boone is not that large). Very nice complimentary breakfast on a loft area overlooking a beautiful lobby.

A caveat about travel in the busy tourist season. Boone and Blowing Rock are about equidistant from the Tweetsie RR amusement center. Blowing Rock is definitely an adult oriented place. So families with young children tend to stay in Boone, if Tweetise ( very popular with children) is their reason to be there. The buffet breakfast was fairly chaotic with lots of kids in a very limited area. If you are travelling without children and are looking for a little more peace and quiet, the Comfort Suites may not be the right spot for you in the Summer family tourist season

A final note: the hotel has awesome coffee, located near the breakfast area which taste fresh regardless of the hour.

We stayed at this Hotel June 7th, and all was great with the property. In Room High Speed Internet was very fast, room was clean, staff was friendly and efficient, pool was warm, breakfast was incredible. A Overall Good experience.

I do not feel this hotel deserves the number one ranking it currently enjoys. On the plus side, it does have a beautiful lobby, the rooms are large, the staff is accomodating and friendly, it comes with free breakfast and it is central to downtown Boone. I had a couple of major issues, however, that you should be aware of. The hotel proudly states that it is 100% smoke-free. This is not true as my room smelled as though previous occupants had indeed smoked in it. The 3rd floor hallway wreaked of smoke coming from some of the rooms. They really need to do a better job of enforcing the rule. In addition, our room had terrible red stains in the carpet and the air conditioner cooled but did not de-humidify which suggest the filters need to be replaced. If you want a good nights sleep ask for a rear facing room as the strret noise is bad. On a previous visit we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and enjoyed it alot more.

I have now stayed at Comfort properties about 5 times in different locations and each one has been nice and a great value. I highly recommend this hotel.
