The Sunrise Pancake House met our expectations of southern hospitality and exceeded them in service and quality of food. Mary, our waitress, was friendly and attentive. The carafe of coffee for self-service refills was a nice touch. Our orders came out superfast. My wife and I each had the Western Omelet, she with grits and OJ. I substituted home fries for the grits and washed it all down with coffee. Everything was cooked just the way we like it, and the bill came to less than $20 – a good breakfast value. While there, check out the fireplace, which is a hint that the building may be historic -- the white painted brick wall looks like an original baker’s oven that has been updated with a gas fireplace insert.
