We booked a night at this hotel on our way to Gatlinburg, TN. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I would say the young lady is one of the nicest hotel clerks I have ever come in contact with. The rooms were nice and clean. Our complaints are with the pool area and restaurant. The pool area is huge and in a separate building. I'm not sure if it was just during our stay but the building itself feels like a sauna. I sat by the pool to watch my children and honestly felt as if I was in a sauna. Also, the pool was FILTHY!!!!! I didn't let the children swim for long. I was afraid of what they might catch. Also, the next morning we decided to stay and have the lunch buffet before we crossed the mountain into Tennessee. It was right at 11 when we checked out and we went into the dining room. The hostess seated us and told us the buffet would be ready soon. I looked at the buffet and it was completely empty. Not only was it not ready, but wasn't even started. I told my husband that it would be awhile before we would get to eat. He asked the hostess about it and was told that it would be about 20 minutes before they would have it ready. At this point, we are starving and I did not feel that there was any way they would have a full buffet out in 20 minutes so we got up and left. The hostess did not even acknowledge us as we walked out of the restaurant. We walked right past her. So overall, the rooms are good if you want a nice clean place to sleep. If you want amenities, cruise on down the road!!
