We booked a night at this hotel on our way to Gatlinburg, TN. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I would say the young lady is one of the nicest hotel clerks I have ever come in contact with. The rooms were nice and clean. Our complaints are with the pool area and restaurant. The pool area is huge and in a separate building. I'm not sure if it was just during our stay but the building itself feels like a sauna. I sat by the pool to watch my children and honestly felt as if I was in a sauna. Also, the pool was FILTHY!!!!! I didn't let the children swim for long. I was afraid of what they might catch. Also, the next morning we decided to stay and have the lunch buffet before we crossed the mountain into Tennessee. It was right at 11 when we checked out and we went into the dining room. The hostess seated us and told us the buffet would be ready soon. I looked at the buffet and it was completely empty. Not only was it not ready, but wasn't even started. I told my husband that it would be awhile before we would get to eat. He asked the hostess about it and was told that it would be about 20 minutes before they would have it ready. At this point, we are starving and I did not feel that there was any way they would have a full buffet out in 20 minutes so we got up and left. The hostess did not even acknowledge us as we walked out of the restaurant. We walked right past her. So overall, the rooms are good if you want a nice clean place to sleep. If you want amenities, cruise on down the road!!

We just returned from Cherokee and we stayed at this Holiday Inn. This was the 2nd time we have stayed here and it will not be the last, as we live within a two hour drive.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. Check in went well, even though we were an hour before check in time. We were greeted with a smile, by Frank, at the front desk.
There is never a shortage of smiles here. Where ever you go on the property, from the lobby, to the pool area, to the dining room.....everyone welcomes you with their smiles.
You will fell right at home here, unlike some other large hotels.

Our room was spotless. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were heated and fresh towels were supplied. Our dinner was marvelous. The salmon to die for! Thank you, Mr. Jim and Ann.

We will return.

We decided to stay here because of the great rate we found (I think it was about $50 with taxes) and because we have had pretty good luck with Holiday Inns. My first impression as I was checking in was wow this is nice. The lobby area and restaraunt looked great. However when we checked into our room I was not as impressed. Our room was in the second (smaller building) and it was nothing special. The TV/Armoire looked nice and new but that was it everything else was in need of renovations. The bed was fairly comfortable though. The pool and hot-tub were closed for renovations so we didn't get to see that. I guess the best way to sum it up is for the price it was alright but I wouldn't pay much more for it. However other reviews give it a better rating so maybe the rooms in the main building are better.

This is one of the nicer Holiday Inns. I only have three complaints. #1, Of the two connecting rooms, 103-105 and 203-205, the door handles are sharp. I tripped over my bag and cut my stomach on the door (a 4 inch gash). A hazard for little kids. #2, In the review titles "OMG Terrible" someone complained about how the ice machine on the second floor was broken...it still is. And #3, in the restaraunt, it says that it was ranked among the top 10 Holiday Inn restaraunts in america. BULL$#!+!!!!! If you are ranked among the best, serve the best. For breakfast, EVERYDAY the buffet was as follows...
Buiscits and Gravy
Grits
Potatoes
Oatmeal
Stale French Toast Sticks
Bacon
Sasauge
Coffee
O.J.

Just let me say, it could have been worse

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cherokee NC.
The hotel was very clean. There is not alot of things for older kids to do but it was a nice place to stay for a few days in order to see NC side of the Great Smokie Mountians. The food at the hotel was wonderful. The staff was also wonderful.
