“Too much money for too little”

We expected a lot more from Courtyard, especially after spending 3 weeks on the road staying at "lesser" chains like Holiday Inn Express, Comfort and Country Inns. The lobby was pretty "trendy" which meant nothing to me, but it seemed like the business class feel wasn't there. Furthermore, the whole property was covered in children, it seemed odd for this type of chain. The staff wasn't particularly friends either, no greeting or small talk. We got that standard "may I help you", "last name", "room is on the left, down the hall, here are your keys". And that was that.

The room itself was nice enough, although it was very very small especially for a king. They had to get creative with the set up to fit a couch, king bed and 2 tables in there, the whole thing seemed cramped. For the price, I found the accomodations a bit unacceptable. The decor was nice, but for such an expensive tiny room and so few amenities I felt sort of cheated.

The bathroom was a bit old, there were signs of mold forming in the grout and tile, hopefully they'll treat that before it becomes an issue. Anyway, the end result felt like a lot of money for less of a stay than I have had at "lesser chains".

“Fantastic Stay at the Courtyard Marriott”

I got this room for a steal at $66/night. I didn't know what to expect. Talk about a pleasant surprise. I might have been at a hotel with a concierge level for the 5 star treatment we received. Every request we made (extra late checkout, location of room, extra towels) was met with a smile. The room was beautifully furnished, bathroom clean, 6 pillows on each queen bed, and amazingly enough - quiet. We were on the same floor with the extended family of a wedding party on the night of the wedding. I know they were out in the hall moving from room to room, because when we left the room we saw them, but we didn't hear them when we were in our room. My daughter napped in the room one afternoon when housekeeping was working on the rooms around us, and we didn't hear a sound. This is definitely my place to stay next time we are in town! Breakfast and internet is included in the rate! No hidden charges on my bill.

We needed a room for my son's graduation and so taking a quick look at the Marriott website, we booked this one. My husband and I relly loved this site, the bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows. We wished that we could have stayed an extra night.

Only one drawback and that was because of where the room was located - it was next to the highway and you could hear the traffic all night. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it.

“There Must Be a Better Choice”

I won't be staying here again. It was neither comfortable nor convenient.

The sliding doors to the little balcony were unlocked when I got there -- definitely check them. There were security warnings all around, so I found the unlocked doors particularly alarming. The bed was really uncomfortable. It had a ditch in it -- time to replace the mattress! The first morning I woke up there, I found a big dead bug in the bed I'd just slept in.

The Internet access was TERRIBLE -- the worst I've ever experienced that still somewhat worked. It took about six tries to get a web page to load. Forget about downloading your Outlook email. I finally called to complain and they fixed it immediately. This tells me they've got some bad routers somewhere that they are still using, and they just hope people won't complain.

There's got to be a better option for the RTP area.
