We expected a lot more from Courtyard, especially after spending 3 weeks on the road staying at "lesser" chains like Holiday Inn Express, Comfort and Country Inns. The lobby was pretty "trendy" which meant nothing to me, but it seemed like the business class feel wasn't there. Furthermore, the whole property was covered in children, it seemed odd for this type of chain. The staff wasn't particularly friends either, no greeting or small talk. We got that standard "may I help you", "last name", "room is on the left, down the hall, here are your keys". And that was that.
The room itself was nice enough, although it was very very small especially for a king. They had to get creative with the set up to fit a couch, king bed and 2 tables in there, the whole thing seemed cramped. For the price, I found the accomodations a bit unacceptable. The decor was nice, but for such an expensive tiny room and so few amenities I felt sort of cheated.
The bathroom was a bit old, there were signs of mold forming in the grout and tile, hopefully they'll treat that before it becomes an issue. Anyway, the end result felt like a lot of money for less of a stay than I have had at "lesser chains".
