Like other reviews, I echo that some kinks need working out, particularly staff training...that comes with time. What you get is a mint-new hotel, in an area that has few options near shopping & dining.
Excellent location near RTP area, and the Southpoint development, which offers bunches of restaurants and shopping for your evening hours, unlike a lot of other area hotels.
Hotel wireless internet was superb, as were the beds. Bathroom was properly lit and of adequate size, a rareity in hotels of this price-point. The Mirra chair was an added plus for this biz traveler, and I found it helped me wind down my day. Parking well-lit, and safety did not seem to be an issue, despite what I have heard of the Durham area. Fitness room was above average, with 6 cardio machines, but has ample room to add a multi-function weight unit (such as a Bowflex...hint hint).
Minuses: Breakfast was fairly pricey for a very limited continental buffet: should be included in the price at the rate they are asking for the hotel room (same rate as the full-service Marriott downtown the week I stayed). Noisy doors in hallways mean your neighbor's comings and goings can often disturb...management needs to adjust the closing mechanisms. Annoying and noisy heat-pump unit is so 1980's... WHY oh WHY was this hotel not engineered with a quiet, central-type system, being 6 floors and all!
So, with more plus than minus, I'd recommend to anyone staying in the area, if they want new, and can live with some minor misses on "experience". I will give this hotel a few more months, to fix some things before revisiting.
