We stayed here the first night of our trip and I wanted an elegant spot to set the tone of our week in North Carolina. It couldn't have been better. It was night when we got in and as our lights shone on the White Plantation's tall columns, my husband said; "Tara". And it only got better. I chose the Montclair Room and it was one of the loveliest rooms I've ever stayed in, though I do have a preference for blue. This room would probably be too warm in the summer, but was fine for us in April. Breakfast was wonderful with a lovely frittata. We strolled the plantation grounds before we bid goodbye to this lovely place. It is about 30 minutes from the airport, but worth the drive.
