My wife and I travel every year to a B&B as our Valentine's Day gift to ourself. We have come to expect a lot from our stays, and the Arrowhead Inn did not disappoint us. We stayed in the Garden Cottage, which is removed from the main house. We enjoyed the privacy, although there did seem to be some sort of apartment attached to the cottage and we occasionally overheard some noise through the wall. The Log Cabin was completely detached, and probably better if you want complete seclusion. The grounds were lovely, although we didn't get to see much of them in January.

One of our favorite features was the DVD/VHS library that the Inn provides free of charge. Ordinarily, we don't watch TV on our getaways, but we arrived at the Arrowhead earlier in the day than we usually do and it was nice to be able to relax and watch a good movie.
The food, while excellent, was slightly lacking in character compared to many other places we have stayed. The quiche, in particular, appeared to be commercial rather than homemade. Nonetheless, we recommend the Arrowhead to anyone looking for a relaxing alternative to a hotel.

The Inn is delightful, as is it's location. Our room (Benson) was beautiful. The room had everything we needed and more.

The food was wonderful! The cranberry scones - melt in the mouth delicious.

The innkeepers, Phil and Gloria were also delightful.

We could not think of a thing we would change!

The cabin was absolutely lovely; we did not want to leave! It is a beautiful place to get away from everything and just relax in a gorgeous and well thought out environment. Not only was the cabin beautiful, but the garden was amazing. I would love to go back during the Spring to see it in bloom. I agree with one other reviewer that the breakfast was excellent with the exception of the main egg dish. I love garlic, but this was just too much. Overall, I would go back there in a heartbeat; it was worth every penny.

Located about 7-8 miles outside Durham, this historic inn has all the stuff that gives it a high rating and generally deserving of its high regard by Tripadvisor reviewers. We were generally happy with our one night stay, but found our breakfast to be better in its side dishes (jams, fruit, bread) than in the main egg offering, and felt that the innkeepers were more business people than they were passionate innkeepers. Still Arrowhead was a good value, and had the weather been better we could have enjoyed the expansive grounds, which looked quite lovely outside our rain streaked window.
