“Great hotel from a repeat customer!”

City Hotel & Bistro

We've stayed at the City Hotel about five times now, and have not been dispointed yet. THe staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. While the breakfast may not be a gourmet meal, it is fine and there is enough of a variety to please this family of five. I have recommended this hotel to many people I know that are visiting ECU. The proximity to the campus is great, you can be there in about five minutes. Also, there are plenty of stores and restaurants around. As long as our son is attending ECU, we will continue to stay at the City Hotel. I also recommend booking directly with the hotel--they have always been extremely responsive and helpful while making our reservations.

Amatuers at best! I booked a non-smoking room 2 months prior thru Expedia, none were available but did not notify me or Expedia. Confirmed non-smoking. Upon arrival we got a smoking room! Breakfast ok if you like eating while standing, no clean tables, the menu was poorly stocked, one person bussing but was hopelessly behind (we cleaned our own table). Claim they renovated 2006 but bathroom fixtures were old and dirty (top of vanity cleaned but not sides and around wastebasket). The beds were comfortable but the peeling wallpaper and cobwebs were distracting. The bedspread was obviously stained but worked well to cover the cigarette burns on the floor. Save money....stay at Hampton Inn.

We checked in about 10:30 p.m. and a band was playing in the Bistro. It sounded so great that I wished I hadn't been so tired. The hotel is laid out perfectly in relation to the Bistro as well. I doubt there is a room in earshot of the Bistro. The first thing we noticed in our room was the hand towels placed like the shape of a shirt and tie. Such a great little touch. Then when most hotels are ripping you off with the drink machines, I was pleasantly surprised that the Coke machine was only $1.00. I bought a couple of drinks and placed one of them in the room refrigerator. Okay, now the best part! The complimentary breakfast wasn't a mere cold danish and some cereal, it was a full blown breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, biscuits, sausage gravy!!!! I would also like to mention that we stayed there after one of ECU's big wins and wouldn't have been surprised by any celebrating around, but it was completely quiet and we slept great! The other plus was that we got a great rate, even for a fooball weeken through Orbitz. Awesome hotel, we'll definitely be back!

“Excellent hotel”

If you have to stay in Greenville, NC for any reason, I highly recommend the City Hotel & Bistro. My friends, family and I stayed there during graduation weekend and were very impressed by the decor and service. This is a well-kept, new-looking hotel with a very nice, professional staff. A good, hot full breakfast is included with the room and is excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. Try out a suite--they're really spacious and comfortable! I am very picky about hotels, but this one defintely met my standards!

“Great Quality For The Price!!”

City Hotel & Bistro

I am a regular business traveler, staying in hotels from Dover to Jacksonville. I will admit that I was apprehensive in booking my first stay with the City Hotel. Now, I am glad that I did. I have stayed at the City Hotel several times since November 05 and have enjoyed my stay each time. The lounge just off the lobby is a decent place for a nightcap with nightly musical entertainment and the breakfast buffet is very good. My only complaint as a business traveler is that the Wavelength ethernet connection is not the greatest but that is a smll price to pay for a good nights stay.
