Of the many Choice Hotels I've visited over the years, this one is consistently one of the best. Ironically it is away from everything except for the military base in the same town.

The reception is always very good and the staff consistently professional. The rooms are all extremely clean and well-kept, including the jacuzzi rooms (obtained on a free upgrade). The weight room is in good condition and the breakfast is generous.

I've stayed at this location only as a one-night stop on the way to the Outer Banks. As such it has been more than suitable. I wouldn't mind spending multiple nights here in spite of the approx. half hour drive to Atlantic Beach and New Bern. The surrounding area looks sketchy, but it is fine - just typical military base businesses nearby. I sleep with the (actually functioning!) window open in the spring when I visit (to hear the frogs and crickets chirping) and have never had a single concern.

Location is off the strip in Havelock (a retail strip town) but this is a good Comfort Inn. Rooms are very good, there is wifi, a weights room, and the breakfast is better than most. I recommend it if you are looking in the Morehead City/Havelock area
