My son's baseball team stayed here for a state tournament being held in the area. We received a great rate for our group! We never choose to stay in hotels with the doors opening to the outside, but felt very safe there. The room was quite small and the toilet/shower area was super small. Would have liked a fridge, but again, great room rate. The shower head appeared to have been recently changed. The older pipe had been rigged to fit and the "patch" job was obvious. If the knob for the shower was pulled completely, a shrill sound was present. We choose lower water pressure over busted eardrums! Although the sink and tub area wasn't spotless, it was sufficiently clean I always bring a travel pack of clorox wipes to wipe everything down (even in high end hotels). The bed linens were clean and seemed relatively new and in good condition. One plus was that the towels smelled nice after our showers. Typically, hotel towels smell burnt from too much time in the dryer. Several pillows were on each bed, but as with ALL hotels, they were flat and lumpy, yet two pillows was too high. The ac worked great and our room was always cool. The carpet, although vacuumed, needs replacing. Just old, worn, and stained. The adults sat around the pool area during free time. Not much seating, but the pool is very small anyway. It closes at ten, so we moved into the lobby area one night. The lobby is very plain and serves as the dining room for breakfast too. Just old and small. Breakfast was fine for a few days, but got old quick! Eggs must be frozen and then microwaved, they were square and folded. ??? The sausage tasted fine, but I think also precooked and reheated in microwave. The fruit looked like the Dole tropical fruit blend from a can. Luckily, we like that! Plenty of pastries to choose from, boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles, and cereal. The attendant keep everything well stocked. Coffee was pretty bad,but plenty of it. Had to ask for assistance from the front desk for a few things. All 3 of the staff members I encountered were very friendly and tried to help! The lower level ice machine is still broken. We were told a part had been ordered but we could get ice from the lobby. He gave only about a cup at a time. The other ice machine is so small we ended up having to buy bags at the gas station. An older gentleman wanted ice while I was at the vending machine with my younger son. He couldn't climb stairs,so thankfully we were able to get it for him. My youngest also left his stuffed animal. We noticed quite a ways down the road. I called, and the desk clerk called me back within five minutes that they had found it and had it at the desk. Another baseball family got it for us. So grateful they looked! I would never stay here again on our own, but as part of a group,it would be okay.
Ask for a room that isn't next to smoking rooms. Smokers will smoke on the walkway in front of y...
