I can't say enough about the magical time we spent in the Raindance. Because it was just the two of us, at first I was disappointed we couldn't get one of the log cabins. But it turned out to be an absolute gift. When we come back (and we already have a trip booked in July) we will always choose Raindance. Lots of room to spread out, a killer surround sound system, huge hot tub and rocking chairs under cover of the porch and just feet away from the constant melody of a cascading stream. We had so much room to spread out it felt really luxurious. The master bathroom is HUGE,
Tom couldn't have been a more gracious host, and he gave us directions to THE BEST swimming hole I have ever seen (and I've seen a few!). We climbed up Max Patch at sunset and had the most incredible 360 degree view of the Blue Ridge. It was probably the most unforgettable experience of our trip. Of course we had to make a stop at our favorite Hot Springs restaurant, The Smokey Mountain Diner. Genuine southern cooking served up right, down home feeling, down home price. Not many people know about it, so be sure to check it out.
The Raindance was immaculate and we had everything we needed and more. I think that kitchen is better equipped than mine! Everything we needed was there, towels, laundry soap, even coffee filters (which I forgot!). We had awesome cookouts on the gas grill right outside the porch, and at night we threw out some sleeping bags and just laid back and stared at the stars. It couldn't have been more romantic.
We're bringing the kids this time and I'm sure it will be a blast, but I will always cherish the time my boyfriend and I spent alone at Raindance.
Thanks, Tom, for your gracious hospitality, and all the privacy you gave us. We will be back again and again.
