I have stayed at the Alpine Court on several different occasions when the urge to hike the AT strikes me (the motel is right on the trail, which runs through the town). There are no complicated reservation systems and no expensive website...whoever answers the phone will take your name and date of arrival and that's it, you just show up. I was given the end room by the street so i could have relative quiet. It was good, there's not a lot of traffic in Hot Springs, especially at night. The room was austere but clean and didn't smell of smoke or pets, my usual complaint for cheap places. You get what you pay for, I guess but I only slept and took a shower here, out and about most of the time. It is a throwback to simper times and is sometimes crowded, depending on the hiking season. Plenty of free parking, too. There's not a real lot to do in town except hike, eat, or drink beer, so be sure you enjoy at least one. I don't remember the rate, I think it was around $50.
