We have stayed at this hotel for the past four years.The past two stays have been wonderful.The staff was very pleasant and our rooms have been exceptionally clean.I would advise anyone looking for a good clean,friendly and/or safe location, to stay at this hotel.

Came back here again...this would be the 3rd time. We had two rooms next to each other and both were in great shape with new bedding. Everything was very clean and in working order in both rooms and we all enjoyed our stay here. The only thing we didnt like was when taking stuff to our car in the morning, housekeeping saw us and thought we had checked out, so when we came back up, the doors were open and beds stripped down for cleaning before we had actually checked out. Other than that this is the only place we stay in Murphy.

The hotel and room were terrible. There were 2 televisions on the dresser, 1 of them worked. Apparently they forgot to take the broken one out. The A/C only went down to 83 degrees, it did NOT cool any more. The toilet seat would NOT stay up. I had to hold the seat up while trying to stand there and pee....MOST inconvenient!! The staff was completely unknowledgeable about the surrounding area. Their response was "I dunno." The staff should have more training on their attitudes and customer service! The door was extremely difficult to close. Once it did shut, it was still barely secure. It flopped back and forth! The breakfast was poor. I expected more than what you would get at a very cheap hotel or motel!
The internet access was terrible. The wireless was SO slow that I wound up going to get a LAN wire...it did not help at all.
On a positive note, the room was clean. However, I am a man and my standards may not be as high as some women's!!
This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had anywhere.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Murphy,nc on April 2006.The night was the worst I have had in a while.The staff was rude.The manager was even more so.My room smelled of mold.My toilet was not clean.I dropped my watch behind the night stand.When I moved it there was trash behind it.I asked for another room and was rudely told by the manager there was no more.The pool was closed.The cieling looked as though it would soon fall down The gym looked as though it had never been cleaned.The rooms were so dark,you could hardly read.Even when I turned the lights on I could not see.They must have been using 20watt light bulbs to conserve energy.The elevator was filthy in the corners. This was by far the worst night I have spent in a public hotel.I will never stay there again.Even if I have to drive 50 miles away to find lodging.
