Let me precede my review by saying that this hotel has been under construction for 2 months according to the front desk.
Although during my stay, I just saw one man painting the hall. My family and I decided to stop in Raleigh to check out the city as we were passing through the state of NC. We were very tired and walked into the Ramada to get a room for the 2 days we planned to stay. Don't be fooled by the decent lobby, I saw a pretty clean area with a bar/lounge and several people standing around so I thought it was ok to stay. When we got into the room, the TV was not working, maintenance was sent up and after several minutes and noticing that the entire cable was pulled out of a gaping hole in the wall; he encouraged the front desk to change our room. The next room had a working TV, but the tub was dirty and the stopper was broken. I learned after we checked in that the pool is not open (they are waiting for inspection), you get a better internet connection in the lobby or the parking lot, and the exercise room is not functional. The breakfast is fine, the attendant is very nice. Oh, and that bar/lounge is not open either, upon closer inspection, there is not one bottle of wine, liquor or soda to be found. In the daytime, the lobby seems a little gloomy and I honestly believe that my families of 3 were the majority of patrons at the time I stayed there. It gets better, when we turned on the TV the next morning (2nd day), it wasn't working. We called the front desk to report it and received a return call letting us know that the cable/ dish network was down and should be back up shortly; it still wasn't working when we checked out the next morning! When getting dressed, one of the maintenance men walked into the room without knocking. He apologized and left immediately. 'when I went to check the door, I was surprised to see that you did not need a card key to access the room, just push the door really hard and it opens. The person at the front desk did not seem too concerned when I reported this. Upon check-out, I requested to see the manager on duty, but there was no manager on duty at the time we checked out. According to the woman at the front desk, the manager would be in around 11 or 12 noon. There was no way I was staying one minute longer than I had to, so I left a message to have him call me; I haven't heard from him as of today(2 weeks later). Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. Maybe once the construction is done, service will get better. I have pictures that I will post.
