Ok. I just don't get all the great reviews of this place. I travel quite a bit for work and have had sushi of all types and grades. Simply put this place ain't that special. I have been here 4 times over the past year before passing judgement and I must admit I am not impressed. Each time the sushi has been average at best and the service average or less. As other reviewers have noted the staff seems unapologetic if your dining experience is less than you expected. Tonight was my wife's birthday. She had heard great things about this place and requested to go here. It took over an hour for our entrees to arrive and the server never apologized (similar to other reviewers). Our order was simple. I ordered some sashimi, wife ordered 2 rolls and kids ordered terriayki chicken. It took way too long. There were empty tables when we arrived and placed order so they were not swamped. My wife ordered a Mary Roll which has "spicy tuna" on top. I noticed she wasn't eating that so I tasted it. It was not spicy nor good. It was very nondescript and bland. When we addressed it with the waitress she blamed it on the "spicy" mayo they used, saying that it was "different" than most places used and that we may not have had it before. She basically blew us off and made it seem as if we were inexperienced with sushi. That's fine if we were but I am not a sushi newbie. It was terrible. I promise you it was not spicy and it was not good. I left it on the plate and I dont leave good food. My family calls me the garbage disposal. Her attitude alone was the last straw for me. I have had her before and she played the same game w me when my dauther's food (dumplings) were subpar. So the bottom line is I'm done with this place. I really do not understand the local infatuation with it. Mura or An are much better quality, service and atmosphere if u want good sushi or Asian food. To me sushi is an experience. I am willing to pay slightly (and only slightly) more for good quality sushi. Don't waste your time at Waraji. It's really not worth it if you truly
like sushi or other high quality Asian food. I would recommend Mura or An as better options of the places I have tried. Happy dining folks and thanks for your honest reviews!
