went end of August with husband and 3 teenage kids, I did read the reviews before we went but was determined to make the most of it.
The staff were amazing, friendly and worked their socks off !! especially on the all inclusive drinks bar. 1 drink per person at a time seems ok in principle, but when you have to spend up to a quarter of an hour in a long queue on your own for a small drink, whilst your other half minds the table, then sit on your own while he queues it gets a bit much. I did mention this to the manager and he seemed to think it made the queuing quicker if every one had 1 drink at time. However, it makes no sense as everyone had to queue with only 2 staff to serve up to 600 people, they were non stop. Meanwhile at the larger area where people paid they also had 2/3 staff lounging around for most of the evening as it was quiet there. A further 2 staff (including the manager) were strolling around outside serving paying paying guests at their leisure.
The bars shut dead at half past 11 with security guard in place in queue at around 20 past.
The food was fine, im quite picky and there was always something being cooked fresh.
The rooms were basic but cleaned every day.
The pool area was large enough and it was pleasant.
The entertainment, oh dear. I understand the value of keeping kids happy, but it didn't start til 9pm and there seemed to be no diference when it alledgedly went on for the adults. One example is the snake show. A man stood there with a lizard, then he stood there with a turtle then he stood there with a snake... I was glad to stand in the drinks queue for something to numb the pain. The weekend star attraction was the vertically challenged pool cleaner with an ELC drum kit in PVC trying to sing english songs with no clue what the words were, or if there were words it was hard to tell.
Staff were fab hard working and mostly cheerfull, rooms basic but good, food was canteen style but freshly cooked was available, pool was good.
Entertainment was grim, also the all inclusive drinks policy spoiled what should have been relaxing evenings and would have helped turn the entertainment into a dim haze of recollection.
I would not go again to this hotel. It is a shame as it does have a lot going for it.
