WOWWW seems a very appropriate way of commencing, this particular B&B review and it covers it on a lot of fronts. The Buckland is set in some of the most amazingly beautiful country within Australia, in fact gorgeous was how my beautiful Wife Marion kept describing it.
The area surrounding Bright which encompasses Porepunkah where The Buckland is located is simply Stunning. It’s to be recommended to All Australians and All Overseas Travelers alike.
The Buckland is one of 4 (I believe) separate self contained villas (Ours was no. 3) that have been tastefully and cleverly designed to maximise the user experience as well as capitalise on the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
Marion and I had a woeful experience at the Hyatt in Canberra and it was on our way back from there to our Home in Mount Gambier S.A. That we had the serious good fortune to come across The Buckland, unfortunately their breakfast that they normally do nearby was off the menu during our particular stay due to a refit (I think) thus we didn’t get the opportunity to meet or thank the owners for the quality and standards that they obviously employ with their delivery of self contained accommodation.
Please know that this accommodation is pure quality from the beginning to end, I’m talking extremely comfortable King bed with top quality linen offering a gazillion Egyptian thread counts. A clever array of lighting within the bedroom, even to the extent of lights built into the lower body of the bed, iPod dock included.
Cold weather was kept at bay by the double glazing to all windows, a combustion heater as well as an electric wall heater kept us very snug and cozy. The kitchen offered Miele cooking appliances, an exceptional quality coffee machine and an array of good quality kitchen aids and utensils, along with good quality wine glasses for enjoyment of several drops of vino. Two decks with tables and seating to relax on as well as a BBQ to enjoy.
Top quality bath towels within the stunning and I Do mean STUNNING Ensuite. Picture a curved wooden ceiling with 2 shower heads projecting down, situated in front of a full width ceiling to floor picture window looking out to the surrounding bush. How Decadent, How Opulent, How Peaceful.
Lounge furniture, consisted of a cozy couch to cuddle up in and a chair, LCD TV and sound system ALL good quality. If I’m to be picky at all, it probably could do with a carport so you’re not loading or unloading the car in inclement weather.
Of course the bottom line is would we go back again for another break? Too bloody right we would and we can’t wait to make it happen. It’s a self contained B&B that does what they all should, it DELIVERS and in spades.
