Rick's Restaurant and Sports Bar is one of the best restaurants in the greater Topsail area in my opinion. The food is fresh and tasty, the place is clean and comfortable, and the service is friendly and efficient.

A group of us met at Rick's for supper and had a great time. I ordered the Southwest Chicken with steamed vegetables. I received a generous portion of grilled chicken that had been seasoned and then covered with a mixture of corn, black beans and tomatoes. It was then topped off with cheese and scallions. It was delicious. My husband had flounder stuffed with crab meat. and others in our party had pasta, steak and fish. We also had children with us who had chicken tenders. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had no complaints.

They have homemade ice cream pies that are to die for. I didn't have one but my husband did and I took a bite. It was great.

The prices are what I would consider moderate. My meal was $12.95 and I think my husband's was a couple dollars more.

The server was friendly and attentive. Even though the restaurant was busy while we were there, she always made sure our drinks were full and our dirty plates were taken away.

Rick's is fairly large with a lot of seating. It is furnished in hard wood and wood work with sports memorabilia in the bar. It is a very nice looking place. When you walk in the front door you can either be seated in the bar or the dining room.

The bar is big, light and airy. The ceilings are very high and the ventilation system must be pretty good because I don't smoke and while the bar room is the smoking area, I could not detect any smokiness or smoking odors. There are TVs hung on the walls and a big screen TV above the bar. There are also large windows which add to the open airiness of the bar.

The dining room has both booths and tables, and they have tables that can accommodate large parties. The dining room is separated from the bar by a wall so noise and such from the bar does not spill over into it. The seating is comfortable and nice, and you don't feel squished as there is adequate space between tables.

There is a small game room located just off the dining room with a few video games in it. This came in handy for us because the kids played games after they ordered and we were able to socialize over cocktails in peace.

The bathroom is clean and very nice.

I tried to think if there were any negatives warn people about but couldn't come up with any.

I would highly recommend Rick's to anyone.

Rick's is located on the causeway just off Hwy 17 going to North Topsail Beach from Sneads Ferry.
