This place is in kind of an odd location, midway between downtown "old" Wilmington and the beach. Still, it offers nice rooms, good and hospitable service, a fine indoor pool and whirlpool and a decent free continental breakfast for not a lot of money.

WARNING: If you're not a smoker, stay off the top floor if possible. There are non-smoking rooms, but it is not a non-smoking floor. So there are smokers who violate hotel policy and smoke in the hallway, which the hotel realistically cannot do much about. Save yourself the irritation and stay on an all-non-smoking floor if possible.

This hotel's location is not on the ocean (about 15-20 minutes away in fact) but is ideal for staying in Wilmington if you have other plans than hitting the beach. It is however close to the mall and various other restuarants and interesting attractions including Kohl's Custard just next door which is quite yummy.
The hotel staff was incredibly nice and helpful. My computer was having problems finding the network (internet) that the hotel had and the owner, a nice man named Jay, spent over an hour trying to get it to work and promised me that he would, which he did and the internet connection worked quite well.
The inside pool area is beautiful with wood-looking planking on the ceiling and walls and is of decent size for an indoor pool facility. They also have a hot tub, but no indoor pool.
Our room was simple with a king size bed, reclining chair, desk, tv and bathroom. Nothing special but if you don't plan on staying in the room much, it shouldn't be a problem. We were pleasantly surprised to also have a microwave and refridgerator in our room upon arrival but that was not in the description originally so I'm not sure if it comes standard in all rooms.
There is a continental breakfast every morning from 8-10am featuring bagels, danishes, toast, waffles, muffins, juice, microwaveable sausage biscuits and not-so-fresh fruit.
The one large dissappointment with this hotel was it's false advertisement of an exercise facility. There is a room called an "Exercise Room" but it features only three arcade games and NO exercise equipment.
Overall, this hotel is quite adequate as long as you don't plan on using their exercise facility during your stay.

This gives me an opportunity to brag on this hotel, when visiting Wilmington and Kure Beaches this is the only one I will stay at. The location is great and my room has always been clean. Would recommend this one to anyone, especially families.

We stayed at this Amerihost from July 20-26th and found it to be an exceptional value. My children and I really enjoyed the indoor hot tub and pool. This place in a central location in Wilmington. It is very easy access to anyplace that you want to go. It is at a more or less quiet end and I considered a very peaceful and safe place to stay with my children. They are very cautious about who you are and are great with their security measures. You have to have a key card to enter the motel itself. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, but felt maybe they could add some warm food to their breakfast menu. The 24 hour supply of fruit was excellent as was the cookies and milk night for the kids. They are very accomadating there and we will definitly stay when we come back!
