Hello, we arrived back yesterday from staying in the spotless Rose Village Apartments. We really had a brilliant/relaxing time in Bulgaria. It is truly excellent value at 44 pence per lve (2.45lve = £1). We ate out every evening and on average a large local draught beer was a mere 88 pence and lovely local red wine was around £1.20 per glass. A typical two course meal for four was just £25!. We really recommend the hotel's terrace restaurant, very good value especially the 'Tomatoe Soup'!, Our two boys ate this for lunch most days at a cost of just 80 pence each!!! Supermarkets: Zora, not far from us, 2 minute walk, was a little exspensive, but another 5 minute walk up the road was the Penny supermarket, which was a lot cheaper. It was however still cheaper to eat out and we recommend The Shropska salad and The Shepherds salad which were great for a light lunch). We went on 5 trips booked through our Bulken Holiday rep - Elizabeth (very knowlegable/nice). The 'Off Road Safari' was a truly excellent trip and well worth the money and to be able to experience quad biking, archery, shooting, ponie treking, ponie and trap plus a meal - great day out, lovely guides. A James Bond style video camera man, leaps off the jeeps and films even underneath!!. We also went on the 'Pirate Cruise' on the Tattoo boat which has a slide at the back - awesome fun for older kids and adults alike and for the smaller travellers there was childrens entertainment in the form of a mad pirate and magic show. The 'Blue Mountains' trip was truly awesome as you go on a chair lift down a mountain which lasts 17 minutes! You can buy wine for £1.22 per bottle at the Domaine Boyer winery shop on this trip too! Rude not to at those prices!! , We also went on the 'Family Picnic' trip, which you ride in donkey carts and have a picnic in the Bulgarian hills, very nice. We also went on the 'Shopping Trip/Bourgas Wine Tour', however if Bulkan Holidays dont amend this trip then we wouldn't really recommend this trip as they didn't visit the main attraction - museum and water gardens just a new shopping parade that you can get at home!!!. The apartments are spotless, the cleaners work very hard and friendly. We usually got the fun land train most evenings, 3 lve per person (but if you want cheaper still the buses were only 1lve - we didn't bother). Although we did come accross the occasional begger, this I suppose is no different from main towns and cities in the UK. If you wish to buy souvenirs then there are lots of shops to relieve you of your money, and there are loads of restaurants. Sunny Beach has truly beautiful sandy beaches and the sea was 25 degress. If you do anything on your holiday here, you MUST visit the exceptional Nessabar, which is lovely in the evenings, with tavarnas, music, cobbled streets and shops and beautiful atmosphere. We all had a lovely holiday, it was a great time to spend my husbands 50th birthday; it was a lovely touch as Bulkan holidays left a very nice birthday cake in the fridge for him- thank you Elizabeth. We will be back, blagadaryo.
