Barb and Marcel LaPlante have built a beautiful home in the small town of Coombs, a great centre for visiting the middle of Vancouver Island. We had the Lavender Room for 4 days which is not ensuite but you have exclusive use of the bathroom next door. There are nice touches, like fluffy bathrobes and interesting breakfasts. Marcel is a mine of information about the area.Great value for money but a drink maker in the room would complete the package.

We spent four days of Easter vacation learning how to golf and relaxing at the Thyme Away Cottage. It was an ideal base for exploring, golfing and for simply relaxing on Vancouver Island. We stayed in the carriage house cottage which was well equipped with all the essentials (just missing an iron - which I am sure we could have borrowed from the owners if needed). The morning was glorious - as from our cozy deck, we could watch the horse, the dogs, the rabbits, the deer and two eagles at play in the field and woods that surround the area.

It was only a short drive to the market, " Goats on the Roof" and to the golf course (10 minutes). We went to golf school with David Kuss at Morning Star Golf course, toured the area and relaxed at the cottage each evening. It was a great way to spend our vacation and we hope to do it all again next year. Thanks Barb for a wonderful stay!

This summer we spent five days at this delightful Bed and Breakfast. Our room was spotless, with a beautiful decor and very comfortable bedding and lots of hot water. The owners were warm and friendly and most helpful, as they shared local attractions with us. Breakfast each day was a feast - we didn't eat again until dinner! In addition to our room there was a large lounge with T.V. and an outside deck looking out over the mountains. This is the longest we have ever booked in a B & B, but it was an excellent choice. A perfect place to stay while we explored Vancouver Island.

We would like to thank Marcel & Barb for making our stay at their cottage one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. This place is like a little piece of Heaven planted for us all to share. It is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and the location has the most magnificent views. Not to forget of course mac the horse and the two adorable dogs tess & maggie who are always there to give you a warm welcome. the location also gives you great access to explore the island from north to south, east to west. We will return without a doubt in the future.
