I tried to post this review back in February 2012, when I went to this place with my wife for a dinner, around St. Valentine's Day, but unfortunately it didn't get posted. This is a recovered post thanks to TA support team...So, without further ado...
This is a nice place, albeit quite small; unless you get a table along a perimeter (wall or window), you get no privacy to your conversation. The place has contemporary ambiance, not a Mediterranean atmosphere for sure...
We had a reservation for dinner and were lucky to get a table along a far wall and this helped us, while we were waiting for 30(!) minutes to get tapas, just as an appetizer.
For an entree, my wife had Grilled Beef Tenderloin and I ordered Argentinian Malbec Beef Short Rib. Personally, I found it tastes just OK. Considering, I had only two ve-e-e-ry Short Ribs with little beef on it, I would say it was also ve-e-e-ry overpriced. The meat was soft (I would say, too soft, almost like boiled), but there was little meat anyway...By the way, what Argentinian Malbec has to do with Mediterranean cousine?.. On this, I would side with more critical reviews...
The wine list is very limited for this kind of place, not much from that region. I asked if they had any other kind of wine and they brought Italian Red from Tuscany, which was not on a list...All wines were very pricy, at the rate of an upscale fine dining restaurant. My own calculation showed the mark-up of about 5-6x the price at the LCBO. The chocolate mouse cake was very good, indeed delicious!
The waiter service was friendly, but waiting time was too long.
Another thing that negatively surprised me - one sous-chef working next to the Chef, had a head-cap, but his 2-3 inch beard was not covered...
Me and my wife have been to many different places, including many various dining places...And, oh, almost forgot, I have spent over 7 years of my life in the Mediterranean region...I would say, try it yourself and see if you like it...Personally, I would want to love this place, but I was not impressed.
Sorry, Chef....but thanks for the wine...

As a chef & owner it is my responsibility to correct some misleading facts in this publication. While no restaurant is perfect, at Scorpion we always welcome constructive criticism so that we can continuously aim to be our best. Unfortunately this review is a year old, was preview on similar web-sites and does’t represent the restaurant as present.
Scorpion has been design with a contemporary, modern European ambience with a
classic Barcelona style wall drafted by a Italian designer well know in the industry.
Our manager went out of her way to accommodate this reservation within a special table. They appeared to be pleased by our gesture. We are so sorry but If you are looking for a fast, prep cook, out of the box meal, we are not your destination, we cook every dish from fresh ingredients at the time of your order and take time to delivery hight quality food, we recommended to enjoy your dinning experience with plenty of time.
Our Braised Beef Short Beef is one of our best sellers and our patrons keep coming back for more. As working chef in France, we utilized Argentina malbec for braising for his substantial value and taste, as France is the number one import of Argentina wines for generations.
Regarding his unseemly comments about the wine list, as a boutique restaurant we prefer to offer a more tailored wine offering that pairs well with our distinctive flavors, with an increase private selection and well priced under the industry benchmark.
This opinion will not hinder our operation and we’ll continue to provide our professional and friendly service to those willing to accept it. We are always looking forward to introduce new people to our extraordinary and unique menu and satisfy their tastebuds.
With Love The Scorpion Chef
